PLAYERS: Ray Edwards
TEAMS: Atlanta Falcons
Ray Edwards was never the same after his failed relationship with Stripper LaStarya. Women can have that affect on you and it has sent him into a downward spiral. He was cut by the Falcons and decided to take up boxing. Now, he is fighting in barns in North Dakota against guys that look like employees on THE OFFICE. To make matters worse as you will see from the video provided by Deadspin, Edwards couldn’t even beat his pudgy opponent fair and square. This opponents reacts to the fake punch better than The Rock does the Stone Cold Stunner, just watch.

NFLer 'earns' knockout in boxing match

The NFL career of former Vikings and Falcons defensive end Ray Edwards might be over after Atlanta released Edwards in November on account of being a surly, unproductive locker room cancer unwilling to attend team meetings. If his NFL career is over, he had a fairly respectable one. He played for seven seasons, posting eight or more sacks in two of them. All in all, could be worse...

Ray Edwards is now boxing, knocked a guy out without actually hitting him (Video)

Former NFL defensive end Ray Edwards looks like he’s taken up a career in boxing. In the video above Edwards knocks a man out without even touching him.  The other guy was clearly scared and decided to flop down.  I don’t blame him since he’s obviously a lot smaller. Nicholas Capes, the man who took that hilarious dive against Ray Edwards in their February 9 fight, has been suspended indefinitely from boxing in North Dakota. According to the Pioneer Press, Combative Sports Commissioner Al Jaeger is for some reason taking this whole thing extremely seriously and has done a video review and continues to investigate. What is left for Jaeger to investigate...

In what has to be one of the funniest boxing knockouts— or worst dives— ever, former Minnesota Vikings and Atlanta Falcons defensive end Ray Edwards laid out an opponent without even touching the guy. Edwards, who was released by Atlanta in November, gets into the ring with some chubby little guy in a "Co-Main Event" professional boxing match in West Fargo, ND the...

Something about Ray Edwards’ boxing career isn’t right

Former Minnesota Vikings and Atlanta Falcons defensive end Ray Edwards has been having trouble finding work in the NFL.  He was referred to as a locker room cancer, despite the fact he had a fairly productive career, posting 8+ sacks twice in a seven-year career. As a new career, Edwards picked up boxing, although his skills seem to be lacking and this fight is absolutely staged...

Former NFL player Ray Edwards knocks out opponent at boxing match with phantom punch (Video)

For those of you who don't remember Ray Edward's NFL career, he played defensive end with the Minnesota Vikings/Atlanta Falcons from 2006-2012. Since he's not currently on an NFL roster, Edwards is trying to make a name for himself in the boxing world and during a recent fight against Corey Briggs in North Dakota, it appears that Ray used a "phantom punch"...

Ray Edwards: From NFL to Air Boxer

((ht: deadspin.com)) Oh how the mighty have fallen. Former NFL Defensive End Ray Edwards was let go mid-season in 2012 by the Atlanta Falcons for basically getting paid to underperform. That talent seems to have taken hold in his other pastime: Boxing. Check out the video below of Edwards from this past weekend. He appears to tower over a guy who looks from a distance...

Former Falcons DE Ray Edwards Boxing Opponent Suspended For Taking A Dive

As we reported a few days ago, former Atlanta Falcons defensive end Ray Edwards is now boxing and taking fights where ever he can get them. Edwards recently had a fight in barn located somewhere in North Dakota.  Edwards won that fight, but only after his opponent took a dive, and was dropped by the worst phantom punch in boxing history. The Associated Press is reporting that...

A Boxing Flop Soccer Players Would Be Proud Of

Former Vikings defensive end Ray Edwards is a boxer, or he would like you to think he is. During his latest fight he fought a last minute opponent who was much smaller, had shorter reach, and had a fairly large belly. That man’s name was Mike Smith, and Miek Smith wanted nothing to do with Ray Edwards. Check out the technically not TKO by Ray with a massive whiff to Mike’s...

Former NFLer Won A Boxing Match On A Great Phantom Punch

This match makes Mr. T vs Roddy Rowdy Piper an instant classic. The giant man in the ring is Ray Edwards, a former defensive end for the Minnesota Vikings and – for some of last year – the Atlanta Falcons. Despite being only 28, Edwards NFL career seems to be over after he was released in November of 2012 from the Falcons one year removed from a 5-year contract with $11 million...

Nicholas Capes, fighter who got knocked about by Ray Edwards’ phantom punch, gets suspended (Video)

Free agent defensive end Ray Edwards has always had a thing for boxing, but I highly doubt he ever thought scoring a knockout could be as easy as it was during a recent match in North Dakota against a “fighter” named Nicholas Capes. The video you see above has gone viral, and it clearly shows Capes taking the dive of the century early in the fight when Edwards missed him with...
