Pittsburgh coach Paul Chryst has hired longtime NFL wide receiver Bobby Engram as the Panthers new wide receivers coach.
Engram, who played in the NFL from 1996-2009, spent last season as an offensive assistant with the San Francisco 49ers. He finished with 650 receptions for 7,751 yards and 35 touchdowns while playing for the Chicago Bears, Seattle Seahawks and Kansas City Chiefs.
The 39-year-old Engram is Penn State's all-time leader in yards receiving (3,026), receiving touchdowns (31) and 100-yard receiving games (16). He is second in receptions (167) behind Deon Butler (179). He remains the only receiver in school history to top 1,000 yards receiving in a season.
Engram is the eighth coach to join Chryst's staff since he replaced Todd Graham last month.
