As if Coach Andy Reid and the Philadelphia Eagles did not have enough on their plate for their upcoming game against the NFL's only undefeated team.  The 6-0 Atlanta Falcons boast a high powered offense with elite players all over the field.  Besides worrying about the Falcons offense the Eagles will have mother nature to worry about.  Hurricane Sandy is ripping up the East Coast from the Caribbean.  The hurricane is expected to hit the northeast late Sunday or early Monday.  Its not just going to be a normal hurricane though, a north east winter storm is working its way down the east coast and will merge with Hurricane Sandy.  The two weather systems will melt into a deadly storm that the media has dubbed "Frankenstorm" due to its monstrous makeup of two storms and proximity to Halloween.  What does this mean for Sunday's Eagles game? Several weather experts have predicted heavy winds and heavy rains during the Eagles 1:00pm EST game on Sunday.  While Philadelphia is not expected to be hit too hard on Sunday, New Jersey might.  It is possible that counties in New Jersey may be evacuated sometime on Sunday prompting major traffic and safety concerns.  All fans attending the game should expect lengthier delays due to increased traffic and weather.  Currently there are no discussions about having the game canceled or postponed, but if a concern does arise the public will be alerted. Despite worrying about their families, homes, pets, etc. the Eagles still do have to play a perfect 6-0 Atlanta Falcons team this week.  The weather should play a role in the playcalling of both teams.  Those long deep balls by Matt Ryan and Michael Vick will likely be off target due to the wind.  Shorter routes and crisp passing will likely be the key to winning the aerial assault in a windy and wet environment.  Also expect the coaches to lean on their running backs more often.  The Falcons have gotten away from pounding it inside with Michael Turner.  They will test Philly's run defense early and often.  Much has been made about LeSean McCoy's lack of touches.  Shady should see the ball at least 25 times in this wet and wild matchup.   The Eagles will need to do their best to ignore the impending Frankenstorm and focus in order to beat a Falcons team in this bad weather scenario. REMEMBER FANS: Allow extra time for travel and exercise precaution during this storm. Check out other great articles at Sports Media 101.

Asante Samuel has a lot of personality issues, and Eagles fans better cheer for him

Cornback Asante Samuel makes his return to Philadelphia this weekend, and he thinks that, for all he's done for fans during the four years he was an Eagle, he deserves a warm welcome. What does he think he is, some sort of Super Bowl Hero? He very well could've been just that, albeit for another team, the New England Patriots. Samuel dropped a game clinching interception...

Bowles aims to fix Eagles' defense

Todd Bowles took one big step onto the stage, bypassing the small stairs that lead to the podium where the Philadelphia Eagles hold their news conferences. The new defensive coordinator has clearly jumped right into his job. ''I certainly didn't invent the game and I'm not going to reinvent the game,'' Bowles said Thursday. ''You've just got...

Hey Brandon “Mitchell”, check your stats before dismissing former coach

Brandon Graham better buck up or shut up. He threw former Eagles coordinator Juan Castillo under the bus, which I commend him for, but he seems more like Freddy Mitchell than Terrell Owens when he said what he said. “I think we started running the same stuff over and over and not switching it up as much,” Graham told “A lot of time we ran the same coverage, stuff...

Brandon Graham issues harsh critique of Juan Castillo, shows confidence in Todd Bowles

Linebacker Casey Matthews hinted at what he thought of Juan Castillo’s coaching when he summed up the first meeting of the Philadelphia Eagle defense in the Todd Bowles era on Monday: “We’re not going to be predictable anymore.” Brandon Graham took those comments further on Wednesday by blaming Castillo for the Eagles defensive woes in the games of which he presided. Graham...
