D's Sports Nuts:
Manning and Brady have matched up 12 times with Brady taking 8 of those
Denver Broncos (2-2) @ New England Patriots (2-2) 4:25 p.m.
Both Tom Brady and Peyton Manning will be in the Hall of Fame someday but today they will both be focusing on the present. Each team needs to win this key AFC contest to give their team a boost. The loser will have three losses in their first five games, something that these two successful quarterbacks have not had to deal with much.
The Patriots seemingly have the better team in terms of overall talent especially on offense. Brady is surrounded by better weapons on offense but the key for them has been health issues. Rob Gronkowski has been ailing quite a bit but should play today. The other part of the dynamic tight end duo, Aaron Hernandez has been out of action for a couple weeks but has practiced this week. I doubt that Hernandez will play this weekend. The Broncos will see a heavy dose of Wes Welker and Brandon Lloyd. The Broncos have a solid pass defense and only give up 221 yards passing per game.
The Broncos offense runs through Manning as you would expect but he does have a solid option at running back. Willis McGahee is averaging 4.7 yards per carry which makes him a good threat i the running game. The Patriots rush defense is ranked 8th in the NFL (Broncos are 10th) so the Broncos could have a difficult time running. A big matchup for the Broncos on the ground will be former Patriot Dan Koppen facing off against Vince Wilfork. Koppen was released because he was slowing down and his effectiveness was on a downward trend. This matchup is Wilfork's to lose. Wilfork should dominate him at the line and be a difference maker.
As with most close matchups, the team that forces turnovers and takes advantage of them will win this game. Manning has thrown 2 picks. Brady has thrown one. The Broncos have lost two fumbles and the Patriots have now lost any. The Patriots take care of the ball pretty well and that should continue today at Gillette Stadium. That will be enough to take this home game. Patriots 31, Broncos 21

Manning has the stats, but Brady came away with the win. Elsewhere in the AFC, the Bills give up a butt-load of points and Miami toughs out an upset win against the Bengals.
Peyton Manning came to town on Sunday for another classic Brady vs. Manning duel
The good news: The Patriots improved to 3-2 by beating Peyton Manning once again, this time as a member of the Denver Broncos. Bruschi's Breakdown: New England Patriots must match wits with Peyton Manning - ESPN Boston:
Yes, all Broncos fans remember it. How could we forget about it? Divisional Round of the playoffs last year in Foxboro. The Broncos were riding high following their 31-25 overtime victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers at Sports Authority Field at Mile High on Demaryius Thomas' 80 yard touchdown reception to open up the overtime period. The Broncos had entered that game as 10 point...
The Memphis Grizzlies are in the process of being sold and the new ownership group has added a new minority partner: All-Pro QB Peyton Manning. It ooks like Peyton Manning is finally putting all that commercial money to good use.
Technically Manning's wife, Ashley, is the one serving as the part owner but it's fair to say that Peyton is the one putting up the cash. Ashley...
In the most recent installment of their storied rivalry, Tom Brady got the best of Peyton Manning as the Patriots topped the Broncos 31-21 in Foxboro on Sunday afternoon.Three costly Denver turnovers and their inability to stop, or even slow down, the suddenly-vaunted New England running game proved to be the deciding factors of the game. The loss drops the Broncos to 2-3 while the...
The hand injury of Julian Edelman will again keep him out of action. The New England Patriots receiver will miss his second straight game and is still considered week-to-week.
On a positive note for Patriot fans, Tom Brady has been removed from the injury report. Brady was limited earlier this week due to a shoulder ailment.
When Denver travels to New England this Sunday, will it be a match up between the Broncos and Patriots or a battle of Brady and Manning? Well it's both in a big early season game for both teams. They both sit at 2 - 2 and believe me, neither quarterback wants to fall under .500 and fall back in their respective divisions. But let's get real! The intrigue of this game...

In the latest installment of the Tom Brady-Peyton Manning battle, it was Brady and the Pats who took care of Manning and the Broncos. It marks the ninth time out of the last 13 meetings between the two quarterbacks that Brady has come out victorious. While Brady had more human-like numbers (23 for 31, 223 yards, one passing TD, one rushing TD) in Sunday's win over Denver, the...
