TGIF! It’s a football Friday and the first Dolphins game of the season is only 2 days away. Things are getting exciting as the Dolphins should have only one thing on their minds right now and that’s pulling off the huge upset against the Texans, although I wouldn’t hold my breath.
Yesterday I took a poll, and 20-13 voted they thought a Win is more important than a strong week 1 Tannehill performance. Tannehill will have all eyes on him Sunday as he is the first Dolphins rookie to get the week 1 start in 13 years.
That being said Ryan Tannehill isn’t going to be the only player on the field this Sunday and there are several other factors that will be big factors in determining the outcome of the game.
Below are 5 things that will be huge factor in the Dolphins first showdown of the season.1) Dolphins defense ability to tackling
Whether it’s been the cornerbacks (Sean Smith) or linebackers missing tackles in previous seasons or this preseason the Dolphins won’t have much wiggle r...
BEST OF MAXIM
In the entire history of the Miami Dolphins, there have been only two quarterbacks to be considered the best in the franchise in addition to being the best in the history of the NFL. Those quarterbacks were Bob Griese and Dan Marino. Miami has really been spoiled with having two Hall of Fame quarterbacks in [...]
DAVIE, Fla. Five rookie quarterbacks are scheduled to start opening week games on Sunday: Andrew Luck (Indianapolis), Robert Griffin III (Washington), Ryan Tannehill (Miami), Brandon Weeden (Cleveland) and Russell Wilson (Seattle).
Its the first time thats happened in more than 40 years. Last year, only two rookie quarterbacks Carolinas Cam Newton and Cincinnatis Andy Dalton ...
Miami Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill is listed as questionable for Sunday's game at Indianapolis, and coach Joe Philbin says there's no timetable for a decision on whether he'll play.
Tannehill was limited in practice for the third day in a row Friday and again wore a brace on his left leg. He left Sunday's 30-9 victory over the New York Jets in the first quarter...
DAVIE, Fla. There were two Chads. There was a Jay and a Ray. There was a Brian and now theres a Ryan.
The number of quarterbacks to have started games for the Dolphins since the legendary Dan Marino retired after the 1999 season is soon to hit 17. And is it unique that rookie Ryan Tannehill, who will start Sundays opener at Houston, wears No. 17?
Well, maybe not. Daunte Culpepper...
In the NFL debut of Coach Joe Philbin and quarterback Ryan Tannehill, the Dolphins hardly could have drawn a tougher assignment than the Houston Texans — on the road no less. Houston is considered by most one of the favorites in the AFC in 2012 and the Dolphins will go into this game as the biggest underdogs on opening day. But is a victory impossible? Stranger things have happened.
This season, HBO’s “Hard Knocks” documentary series followed the Miami Dolphins. And while the Fins may not be loaded with the talent to make a playoff push during the 2012 season, the players will certainly be happy when they get home.
Yes, the women featured on the show proved they have the talent to go even further than their boyfriends or husbands. In fact, they may have...
Long before he became head coach of the Houston Texans, Gary Kubiak served as the backup quarterback behind John Elway with the Denver Broncos. So Kubiak probably can spot a good quarterback when he sees one. And he thinks that's just what the Dolphins have in Ryan Tannehill.
MIAMI -- Quarterback David Garrard has been released by the Miami Dolphins, leaving Matt Moore as the veteran backup to rookie starter Ryan Tannehill. Garrard signed in March and climbed atop the depth chart in training camp before he was sidelined by a left knee injury that required arthroscopic surgery Aug. 11. In his absence, Tannehill claimed the starting job for Sunday's...
While enduring three consecutive losing seasons, the Miami Dolphins have ranked last in the NFL in takeaways with 59.
Coincidence? They don't think so. New coach Joe Philbin says his team must start finding a way to win the turnover battle.
The Dolphins go into Sunday's opener at Houston lightly regarded because they're relying on rookie quarterback Ryan Tannehill to...
The NFL season is upon us and we open with the first installment of Know Your Opponent where we will spend some time focusing on the Texans’ weekly adversary. This week, we get a few questions in with DolFans NYC and will touch on the Dolphins’ experience with Hard Knocks, first-year coach Joe Philbin, rookie QB Ryan Tannehill, plus a myriad of other players...
With the 2012 season fast approaching, expectations have never been higher for a Texans’ team. In fact, some “experts” are predicting not only a repeat AFC Championship but also a Super Bowl appearance. But, let’s not get carried away – they still have to play the games.
This Sunday the Texans will play host to the Miami Dolphins, who feature a rookie quarterback in...
It’s just Christmas morning today, or maybe even better, today NFL football is back! Opening day, a day filled with excitement around the league. A day where 31 teams are still hopeful their team can win the big game and become the next super bowl champion.
I of course say 31 because here in negative Miami most fans have the Dolphins as a 5-11 team or worse and hope is a hard...

If you’ve been following all of my picks, you’d know I love betting against rookie quarterbacks week 1. They tend to, predictably, struggle in their first NFL action. Since 1994, rookie quarterbacks have completed 55% of their passes, averaged 6 yards YPA, and thrown twice as many picks as touchdowns during...
