ARLINGTON Following the conclusion of this year's draft, Jerry Jones said Dallas Cowboys coach Jason Garrett wants players to be involved as much as possible around Valley Ranch. The Cowboys owner and general manager then quickly followed that by saying part of Tony Romo's six-year, 108 million contract extension included a commitment to spend "Peyton Manning-type time on the job." "I can speak for Jason in this respect, everything he's about wants more buy-in and more participation from the player, so if Tony, for instance, would be here Monday through Saturday, that is far better, and be here from seven in the morning to six o'clock at night, all over this place, then that's better than the way it's been," Jones said. "We'll have more success, and Jason believes that. It's certainly at quarterback but he believes it at the other positions, too." On Wednesday, Garrett was given an opportunity to share his thoughts on Jones saying Romo would be more involved off the field. "I think Tony Romo is a great leader for our football team," said Garrett, who joined nine Cowboys players in the Reliant Home Run Derby at Rangers Ballpark. "He's been a guy who's always been very committed to what we're doing. And it's something that we've always wanted as coaches, you want your quarterback to be involved. We've always felt like he's done that and he'll continue to do that going forward."
