New York Jets rookie quarterback Geno Smith is firing back at the criticism of his actions before and after the draft, telling Jim Corbett of USA Today that what's being said about him isn't true. Jaosn Cole of Yahoo! Sports was first with the story about Smith being more interesting in social networking on his phone during visits with teams than showing them why he should be the top QB in the 2013 draft. As we all, Smith ended up as the 39th pick instead of 1st overall. “That’s not true,” Smith said. “I got strong remarks from all the teams I visited with. . . .  I couldn’t care less what’s coming out in the media because I know what’s true.” Then there's the matter of promptly firing his agents after the draft, where it's assumed that he blamed the agents for this fall from draft grace. “Parts of the draft experience were tough, but not all of it,” Smith said.  “With that entire process, you can see where some things went wrong. . . .  Choosing to leave those guys was the best decision for me at the time.  That’s what I went with.  I think I’m pretty good with my decision making.  So I trust myself.” As of right now, Smith doesn't have an agent. If he did, we're guessing the person would tell him to 'shut up, you're only making it worse.'
