Jets rookie quarterback Geno Smith was a having a very strong camp, but has sputtered as of late, according to the Newark Star-Ledger.
While Sanchez will start tonight, the Jets’ coaches will get a legitimate look at Smith, their second-round choice in this year’s draft. Smith has sputtered of late, which is to be expected of a rookie.
“He’s got to power through it,” said Jets offensive coordinator Mary Mornhinweg. “It is an awful lot of installations. I believe we’re at No. 10 right now, so you add it all up and it’s been quite extensive. We’ll see how he rebounds.”
Smith is certainly going to have his ups and downs. It will be interesting to see how he handles them.
