The Dallas Cowboys have a big fancy stadium. They have an owner who likes to throw around money to his team and himself (face-lifts aren't for free), and generally everything the Cowboys do seems to make headlines. The New York Giants are used to the headlines from playing in the Big Apple, to being the defending Super Bowl Champions. On Sunday at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas, the Giants and Cowboys gave their fans and cities a little of everything as they waged another NFC East battle. The Giants prevailed over the Cowboys 29-24, with some ragged defense by both teams, and some gutty performances on offenses by both teams as well. In the end, the misery so far that is the 2012 season continued for the Cowboys, while the Giants found another way to grind out a win.The Hero of the Game goes to New York Giants defensive back Stevie Brown who had a standout performance on Sunday. Brown was all over the field making plays, he had eight solo tackles, and intercepted Tony Romo twice. Brown also recovered a fumble by the Cowboys and was a big reason Dallas had their drives interrupted throughout the game. The third year defensive back out of Michigan mixed it up on Sunday by being a ball hawk and sticking his nose in to the physical play by tackling as well as he did. Big games call for big plays, by big play makers; and Stevie Brown is making a name for himself as a big game player. The Zero of the Game goes to Dallas quarterback Tony Romo. Yes Romo passed for 437 yards on 62 attempts, but he also threw four interceptions and was sacked four times also.Romo was inaccurate when it mattered most, such as when he was backed up in Dallas territory and threw a crushing interception to the Giants defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul who jumped up, picked off the errant throw by Romo; and the returned it 28 yards for a touchdown.Tony Romo has been plagued by inconsistent play for most of the season so far, and there have been grumblings that America's Team quarterback is overrated and overhyped because of the team he plays for.Make no doubt that Romo is gifted and has the skills needed to guide the Cowboys to the playoffs. It's just that on too many occasions Romo makes bad decisions that cost the Dallas chances at victory. On Sunday, we saw the good Romo, and the bad Romo. We also saw the good Stevie Brown; and the Giants rode his play to an NFC East victory over the Cowboys.
