Found November 07, 2011 on Defending the Star:
Rather than just a recap of the game I thought I would try something a little different this time. I know there were a lot of things to dislike about the game yesterday, but there were also a lot of things to like. Let's take a look at things that should give up hope and things that should make us worry. The Good: DeMarco Murray is starting to look like the real deal. It is now three straight weeks that Murray has looked like a legitimate starting running back. It will be interesting to see how many touches Felix Jones gets when he gets healthy. Hopefully Garrett will keep Murray as the starter and use Felix as the change up.The Bad: The running game still isn't punching the ball into the end zone from close range. I don't know if Jason Garrett just doesn't trust the offensive line, but the Cowboys didn't make much of an effort to power the ball into the end zone from close range. Until they start running the ball in they red zone offense will continue to...

The Dallas Cowboys Pluck the visiting Seahawks 23-13

Newman was one of three Cowboys with an int in the game. Two things I am tired of hearing are how Dallas should have beat the Seahawks by a larger margin and how this game was a revenge game for Dallas. As for Seattle being a weaker opponent, yes they were. Offensively the Seahawks are at the bottom of the NFL and surely weaker than the Rams who Dallas beat soundly. If that is how...

Murray shining in spotlight for Cowboys

While starting in place of injured running back Felix Jones, DeMarco Murray has rushed for 466 yards and one touchdown in three games. He has also set the Dallas Cowboys' single-game rushing record in the process. Having early success as a rookie, Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones sees similarities between the former Oklahoma standout and a Pro Football Hall of Famer...

Murray lifts Cowboys' running game

The Dallas Cowboys like their chances of making a serious run at the playoffs despite their 4-4 record, and that's not just because of how soft their upcoming schedule appears to be. Some optimism is based on the recent play of running back DeMarco Murray, and how the rookie's success is affecting quarterback Tony Romo. Murray rushed for 139 yards on 22 carries and caught...

Cowboys owner: Murray's smoothness, glide recall Dickerson

DeMarco Murray has Cowboys owner Jerry Jones downright giddy, with the owner already comparing the rookie running back to one of the game's all-time greats.

Dallas Cowboys vs Seattle Seahawks Review: Offense

Disclaimer: I have only watched the game once at this point, so there are probably many mistakes in what I think I saw.It is getting more and more difficult to tolerate discussions that use the word "fluke".Some of the things I noticed during the Seahawks game about the offense:-  Romo looked pretty sharp; he looked much better than he has in a month or so.  I am starting...

Romo, Murray Get Cowboys Back In Win Column

Tony Romo throws two touchdown passes while DeMarco Murray rushes for 139 yards, as the Cowboys down the Seahawks 23-13.

DeMarco might be the offense's savior

There are Sundays every season that come to symbolize the full tapestry of a campaign and rise above all other game as those rare moments to savor. Yesterday's win over the Seattle Seahawks will not be one of those. Rather, if it is remembered at all, it will only serve to strengthen the debates of those that consider the Dallas Cowboys to simply be a middle-of-the-road squad...

The Dallas Cowboys defeat the Seattle Seahawks, 23-13; “Win November!”

(photo from dallascowboys.com)The new motto in the Dallas Cowboys locker room is “Win November”. And they took their first successful step on that journey today with the help of a stellar performance from rookie running back DeMarco Murray. The Cowboys defeated the Seattle Seahawks in Arlington on Sunday afternoon, 23-13. Murray rushed for 139 yards and caught four passes...

Witten loves rookie’s work ethic

IRVING – Pro Bowl tight end Jason Witten is impressed with rookie running back DeMarco Murray’s work ethic. That’s saying a lot since Witten is one of the Cowboys’ hardest workers. “He comes in every day and works his butt off,” Witten said in a conference call Monday with the Dallas media. To illustrate his point, Witten described how Murray responded to his record...
