Frank Gore made his way through San Francisco's winning locker room and offered a public shoutout to linebacker and NFL sacks leader Aldon Smith.
''Couple more, baby! Couple more, baby!'' Gore hollered.
Gore is taking charge on the 49ers offense, with Smith wreaking havoc on opposing quarterbacks for the defense.
Gore ran for a 1-yard touchdown and reached 1,000 yards rushing for the sixth time in his career, and even took the fake on Colin Kaepernick's late 50-yard scoring run in the San Francisco 49ers' 27-13 victory against the Dolphins on Sunday.
Smith added two more sacks to bring his total for 19 1/2, passing Fred Dean's franchise-best single-season mark of 17 1/2 set in 1983. Smith also moved within three sacks of the single-season record Michael Strahan set in 2001 with the New York Giants.
''Guys really have a determination on this field and on this team,'' cornerback Tarell Brown said. ''We were focused out there...
BEST OF MAXIM
Over the weekend, the San Francisco 49ers improved their record to 9-3-1 with a 27-14 victory over the Miami Dolphins.
49ers running back Frank Gore accounted for 64 yards and a touchdown in the win but Frank's play on the field might have been overshadowed by his choice of wardrobe after the game.
Check out this picture of Gore wearing a "dead Miami Dolphins logo...
Yeah, that would be how to rub it in.
Frank Gore notched his sixth season with 1,000 or more rushing yards Sunday, and he also piled up 63 yards rushing and 22 yards receiving plus a touchdown to lead the 49ers past the Dolphins 27-13.
But if he and his team’s dominance weren’t conveyed well enough by his stat line and the scoreboard, Gore’s getup after the game certainly told...
49′ers Running back Frank Gore knew the perfect occasion to rock his “Pink Dolphin” hoodie that features an upside down dolphin rocking a helmet, when they played the Miami Dolphins of course. It wasn’t an accident and worked out well considering they got the W and Gore scored a touchdown and rushed for 85 yards. [...]
After the Dolphins 2nd straight loss they assured themselves a fourth straight non-winning season, and sixth in seven years.
While Dolphins fans have to hold their heads up high and hope for a bright future, it might be hard to remain confident with Jeff Ireland still calling the shot.
Perhaps the Dolphins need some of the confidence that Frank Gore showed by having a Dolphins...
The 49ers are undergoing something of a transformation at running back these days. No, nothing has changed with the team’s featured back. Frank Gore remains a stalwart workhorse in the midst of a record-setting season that’s defining him as one of the greatest RBs in franchise history. But the backup situation behind him is taking on a whole new look.
Frank Gore quickly gave credit to rookie LaMichael James for an impressive NFL debut - and for taking some pressure off the three-time Pro Bowler in the process.
Anthony Dixon is doing his part for San Francisco, too.
The 49ers' versatile running game showed its depth in Sunday's 27-13 victory against Miami, with Gore leading the way en route to his sixth career 1,000-yard...
The San Francisco 49ers tweeted Monday that running back Brandon Jacobs has been suspended for the final three games of the regular season.

The 49ers haven't said exactly why they're suspending Jacobs. They could have...
SAN FRANCISCO (AP) -- Frank Gore, Colin Kaepernick and Michael Crabtree pulled off the kind of grind-it-out win Jim Harbaugh wants to see during the December stretch run.
Gore ran for a 1-yard touchdown and reached 1,000 yards rushing for the sixth time in his career, and the San Francisco 49ers beat the Miami Dolphins 27-13 on Sunday.
Gore finished with 63 yards, Anthony Dixon...
The NFL’s number two rushing offense entered the game debuting a new back up and an off-season beast of an acquisition “rotting away.” As much as any team would want to give Frank Gore the rock for 25 to 30 carries a game, the San Francisco 49ers understand how much they need their workhorse down the back stretch of the 2012 season. With backups Kendall Hunter on IR and Brandon...
The San Francisco 49ers have been darlings of the NFC since they benched started Alex Smith in favor of second-year passer Colin Kaepernick. Despite a loss to St Louis, Kaepenick has looked strong both passing and running the ball and has inspired the 49ers' offense. And of course the defense is just as good, if not better, as last year. For a team that just barely missed going...
SAN FRANCISCO -- The San Francisco 49ers were clinging to a 20-13 lead late in the fourth quarter Sunday against Miami when they called a read-option run, a play quarterback Colin Kaepernick could run in his sleep. Kaepernick, who rushed for 4,112 yards and 59 touchdowns in college for Nevada, faked a handoff on third-and-five to running back Frank Gore, pulled the ball back and...
Coming off a painful loss to a division rival, the Miami Dolphins (5-7) must travel cross-country to face one of the NFL's most complete teams in the San Francisco 49ers (8-3-1). Ryan Tannehill leads a struggling offense on the road against the league's No. 2 ranked defense, all while being without his best offensive lineman, Jake Long. Miami's defense faces the multidimensional...
The San Francisco 49ers used their smashmouth style of play, capitalized on Miami mistakes, and treated their fans to a 27-13 home victory in Candlestick Park. It was a close game through most of the first half, but in the second half the Niners pulled away. The dagger was a Colin Kaepernick 50 yard scamper up the sideline on a read option play that had the Dolphins completely fooled...
