Green Bay Packers Receive Brutal Update On Kitan Oladapo

One of the players that the Green Bay Packers have brought in to help overhaul their safety position was Kitan Oladapo. Oladapo was a fifth-round pick out of Oregon State and the third safety the team selected in the 2024 NFL Draft.

He was joining Javon Bullard, a second-round pick out of Georgia and Evan Williams, a fourth-round pick out of Oregon, on a revamped depth chart. All three were going to have a chance to compete to play alongside free agent signing, Xavier McKinney.

Alas, that is a race Kitan Oladapo will no longer be taking part in for the foreseeable future. According to Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Oladapo will miss the remainder of the offseason workouts because of surgery on his toe.

During drills at the NFL Combine, Kitan Oladapo suffered a stress fracture to his left big toe while working on the turf. He was able to power through those workouts and took part in his Pro Day at Oregon State after suffering the injury.

The surgery was performed by Dr. Robert Anderson. This is a brutal blow for Oladapo, as it robs him of the chance to make a first impression during rookie minicamp and offseason workouts.

Spending a chunk of your rookie offseason rehabbing will put him behind the eight-ball, but getting healthy for training camp is now the No. 1 goal. While Oladapo will miss OTA’s, there is optimism he will be on the field during training camp later in the summer.

There is playing time opposite of McKinney available, as Anthony Johnson, an undrafted free agent in 2023, is penciled in as the starter alongside him. Kitan Oladapo, along with the rest of the rookies, all bring something to the field that could help them be in the mix early and often, health permitting.
