Saints assistant head coach Joe Vitt says first-team cornerback Jabari Greer will have sports hernia surgery after pulling his groin during practice this week. Vitt says Greer was sent to see a doctor in Philadelphia for the procedure and should return in time for the regular season. Greer came up lame during practice on Tuesday. Rookie receiver Nick Toon left Thursday's practice with an apparent foot injury, which is being evaluated. Meanwhile, rookie defensive tackle Akiem Hicks says he expects to return Friday to full practice and play in Sunday's Hall of Fame game against Arizona. He's recovered from a broken right hand, which forced him to miss the first seven practices of training camp.

Saints Nation: Jabari Greer Potentially Out Till Opener

Another Saints season, another player hernia surgery. That seems to be par for the course with the Saints, so all is right with the world. This time it's Jabari Greer going under the knife after we were first misled to not worry due to the fact that he was "day to day" with a "minor groin injury". From now on, anytime you hear "groin" and "Saints...

Grubbs hungry to fit in on elite Saints offense

Ben Grubbs says that when he ventured into free agency, New Orleans seemed like the right fit personally and professionally. Grubbs grew up in Alabama and played at Auburn, and when All-Pro left guard Carl Nicks left New Orleans during same offseason in which Grubbs became a free agent, the opportunity to return to the South and join a record-setting offense presented itself. Grubbs...

New Orleans Saints Will Choke in 2012

Will the Saints be able to handle the whip lash that lingers from the 2011 season and continues to overshadow the 2012 football season, even before it has begun? Will the Saints be able to navigate through treacherous waters and overcome the stigma of shame and betrayal that they have shown to the loyal, yet somewhat bewildered fans of the great city of New Orleans? Will they be...

Mark Ingram really, really enjoys sno-balls (PIC)

Going Deep: Pierre Thomas

I’m a jack of all trades Juan… 2011 Recap:  While Darren Sproles was lighting the PPR world on fire and Mark Ingram was disappointing fantasy owners, Pierre Thomas quietly put together a decent little season.  He finished with 987 total yards, 6 TDs, and 50 receptions on only 59 targets, which was an amazing 85% catch rate. What’s Changed:  Mark Ingram just can’t seem...

Evan Royster Redskins Starter?

Shanny’s been giving me love Juan… Now, I don’t trust Shanny and Son further than I can throw Darren Sproles, but Royster has been working will the starters all camp for various reasons.  First, Tim Hightower is not 100% and was not impressive at all last season when he was.  Roy Helu doesn’t have the backing of the staff and Royster finished 2011 with back to back 100...
