On the face of things, this weekend couldn't have gone much better for the New England Patriots. A comfortable victory to get the play-offs started over the Houston Texans, preceded by an upset in the form of the Baltimore Ravens win over the Denver Broncos, meaning another game at Gillette, with everything on the line. However, there is a big smear on the weekend. When Rob Gronkowski landed on his previously broken forearm on one of the first plays on offense, and his first target. He immediately left the game, and didn't return. Turns out he had broken it again. The Pats still ran out easy winners. The offense still did the business, with Wes Welker putting up big numbers. But once again, the Patriots will be without their full collection of starters heading into the AFC Championship game. The question that arises is: Was Gronk rushed back? Well, a similar story came about a week ago, involving the decision to play and keep in Robert Griffin III, with most people sa...

Report: Rob Gronkowski’s Arm Injury in Different Location Than Original Fracture

If you think Rob Gronkowski broke his forearm because he rushed back from the injury he suffered earlier in the season, think again. According to CSNNE.com’s Tom E. Curran, the fractured arm suffered by Gronkowski against the Texans on Sunday is not identical to the original fracture he suffered during the Patriots’ Nov. 18 game against the Colts. This is an interesting revelation...

Should the New England Patriots Trade Rob Gronkowski?

As I drove back from my uncle's house after watching the Patriots handily beat the Houston Texans for the second time this season, I listened to WEEI and heard multiple callers proclaim that the Patriots should trade Rob Gronkowski. I thought about entertaining this idea and trying to play both sides of the argument, but it is just too outlandish of an idea to play along. Let...

Report: Rob Gronkowski to Have Surgery, But Danny Woodhead Should Be Able to Play Against Ravens

The Patriots had to be pleased with how healthy the team was heading into the playoffs. Just one game later, the picture has changed considerably. Dan Roche of Boston’s WBZ confirmed that news Monday...

Wes Welker Has Most to Prove as Tom Brady, Patriots Look to Return to Super Bowl Without Rob Gronkowski

On Sunday afternoon, with Rob Gronkowski and his injured forearm in the locker room and Danny Woodhead having long left the field, Wes Welker was still going. He had six catches for 120 yards at the half, and he finished the game with eight catches for 131 yards. It wasn’t like many people noticed, though, with everything else that was happening. On a day that saw key injuries...

Rob Gronkowski’s Injury Will Be Tough to Overcome, But Aaron Hernandez, Brandon Lloyd Give Patriots Hope

FOXBORO, Mass. — Replacing Tom Brady is a near impossible feat — the Patriots came to that harsh realization during the 2008 season — but filling the shoes of Rob Gronkowski will be just as challenging. Everyone knows about the Sports Illustrated jinx. For those that don't know, here's a list. Essentially, the premise is that whoever is on the cover of Sports Illustrated becomes jinxed.
