Currently, the New York Giants are 0-3. And they aren’t 0-3 with a few close games. They’ve looked legitimately awful thus far this season. With Eli Manning not performing, the defense not holding, and the run game completely non-existent, it’s looking like it might be a long year for the New York football Giants. After an embarrassing 38-0 drubbing at the hands of the Panthers, some players are already voicing their frustrations, namely WR Hakeem Nicks. Yesterday, the Giants traveled to Carolina to take on the Panthers. This also just happens to be the home town of Hakeem Nicks. One would think Nicks would be a heavy part of the team’s offense especially with the absent running game so far this season. Does Hakeem Nicks have a right to be frustrated?(Photo Credit: Andrew Mills/The Star-Ledger) He had one target and no catches. During a contract year, this definitely isn’t in Nicks’ best interests. Surprisingly, it only took until week 3 for him to show a bit of frustration in what should be a big year for him. “It’s part of the game,” Nicks said, via Charles Chandler of the Newark Star-Ledger.  “You’ve got to control what you can control.  I can’t throw it to myself.” I don’t know about you, but to me this sure sounds like a subtle dig at his struggling quarterback, Eli Manning. It would be totally different if Nicks was getting targets and simply wasn’t making catches. But when the guy that’s allegedly your #1 receiver is only targeted once, there’s a serious problem with your offense. It might have to do with the fact that the Giants have absolutely zero rushing power, so teams are able to stack up against the pass and rattle Eli Manning. Eli has already thrown seven interceptions this year in only three games and has been under constant pressure. Is this an excuse for his dreadful showing yesterday and for Nicks’ frustration?   What do you think? What’s going on with the Giants? Is Hakeem Nicks right to be frustrated?
