San Francisco 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh has not yet named a starting quarterback for Sunday's game against the St. Louis Rams, but he said on Monday that he "probably" would name his starter on Wednesday. Harbaugh also has some injuries to consider - specifically to wide receiver Kyle Williams (knee) and running back Kendall Hunter (ankle) - but the focus remains on the quarterback situation. Last week, Harbaugh never announced whether Colin Kaepernick or Alex Smith would start Sunday's game against New Orleans, and apparently did not tell Kaepernick he would the starter until the night before the game. That may change this week. "The other situation that I think will probably be different than last week is we'll say who that quarterback is probably Wednesday," he said. "And the biggest reason is so our players aren't all pressured to, 'Who is it?' Everyone hammering them for the information. So, I think in my mind that&#...

After another big win, 49ers QBs still in limbo

Harbaugh sticking with ‘hot hand’ Kaepernick

Jim Harbaugh announced today that Colin Kaepernick will start this week against the St Louis Rams. Harbaugh said that Colin, I believe has the hot hand and we’ll go with Colin. Regardless...

San Francisco 49ers will announce starting quarterback this week

Last week, San Francisco 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh declined to announce the team’s starting quarterback prior to their game against the New Orleans Saints. This week however, Harbaugh has had a change of heart and has told reporters that he will formally announce the Niners starting...

Harbaugh's verdict: Kaepernick is 49ers' starter

Cancel the quarterback controversy. Colin Kaepernick will be the San Francisco 49ers' starting quarterback against the St. Louis Rams this Sunday and should remain the starter into the foreseeable future until or unless some catastrophic event takes place. And only coach Jim Harbaugh can determine what, exactly, would constitute such an event. At his press conference Wednesday...

Straight Outta Stockton - Week 12
