Del Harris has made it official - sort of.
The former assistant coach to Don Nelson and Avery Johnson who still considers himself to be "half-Maverick'' has decided to retire after the better part of five decades stalking the sidelines as a coach at pretty much every level.
"Unless I pull a Favre,'' Harris said today.
Brett Favre came back a time or two (or three or more, the way things are going), but Harris wants to spend time with his family and has certainly earned that right. He said he'd like to stay connected with basketball in some capacity, but is in no hurry to get something etched in stone.
Harris will continue to live in the Dallas area. He was an assistant coach to Vinny Del Negro in Chicago this season after almost a decade with the Mavericks.
