Veteran John Kasay has his contract terminated by the Saints, who will go with Garrett Hartley as their kicker to begin the season. Wide receiver Greg Camarillo and tight end Derek Schouman also had their contracts terminated, while running back Joe Banyard, safety Jose Gumbs, cornerback Marquise Johnson and wide receiver nick Toon were placed on injured reserve. Defensive end Will Smith and linebacker Ramon Hunter were placed on the reserve/suspended list. Quarterback Sean Canfield, who has spent the past two seasons being shuttled between the active roster and the practice squad, was waived. Others waived were linebackers, Kadarron Anderson, Lawrence Wilson and Ezra Butler, defensive ends Braylon Broughton and Alex Daniels, tight end Michael Higgings, cornerback Nick Hixson, safety Jerico Nelson, guard DeOnt'ae Pannell, offensive tackle Aderious Simmons, wide receiver Andy Tanner and offensive lineman Matt Tennant.
