It was a slow week for kickers. NFL kickers were only 3-8 from over 50 yds. Two of those misses belonged to Green Bay Packers boot Mason Crosby. The Pack were beaten by the Colts and their young QB Andrew Luck. Crosby had a chance to tie the game at the end but was wide left on the 51 yd attempt.
It was a different story for the surprising Seahawks. A team in the NFL can win with a good defense if they can kick field goals. The 2000 Ravens were the best example with a lockdown d and All-Time Vanderjacked place kicker Matt Stover. Seattle is 3-2 on the season and its mainly due to a solid d and their kicker Steven Hauschka. Hauschka was a winner of the Vanderjacked award in week 10 of last year and is looking to continue to build on his personal success. He was 3-3 from field goal in a 16-12 victory over the stumbling Panthers. The best way to do that is to be on a winning squad! He has started the season right by going 10-11 from FG range. The NFC West is turning in to the home of the league’s best defenses and the team with the best kickers will be successful.

Steve Wyche of the NFL Network reported Monday night that Green Bay Packers RB Cedric Benson will be out approximately eight weeks with the dreaded Lisfranc injury. According to the Green Bay Press-Gazette via Rotoworld.com, the Packers will likely consider starting James Starks at running back with Cedric Benson out for at least the next eight weeks.Starks looked very unimpressive during the preseason and hasn’t played yet in the regular season because of a turf toe injury. Alex Green will also likely get some carries this Sunday against the Texans.
The Packers haven't started off the season as well as the team expected and quarterback Aaron Rodgers concedes that he's not playing his best football.
The Green Bay Packers were outplayed badly in the second half against the Indianapolis Colts and it cost them the game.Green Bay looked great in the first half as they jumped out to a 14-0 lead over the Colts. The Packers took a 21-3 lead into halftime and it looked like they would cruise to an easy victory. But then the second half was played. It became immediately clear that the...
GREEN BAY, Wis. -- There's a reason it had been 55 years since the last time the Packers lost a game after leading by 18 points at halftime. For any NFL franchise, that's a large enough margin for even the poorest of second-half performances to still sneak by with a win. But Sunday against the Indianapolis Colts, Green Bay lost despite its 21-3 halftime lead and showed just...
Former USC linebackers Clay Matthews and Brian Cushing were supposed to be leading their respective NFL defenses against each other when the Green Bay Packers visit the Houston Texans on Sunday night, and Matthews is upset that likely won't happen due to what he views as a hole in the NFL rulebook.Cushing left the Texans' Monday night win against the New York Jets in the...
Green Bay Packers nose tackle B.J. Raji is having an MRI taken on his injured ankle Monday, but early reports indicate that no structural damage is expected to be found, according to the NFL Network. Raji left Sunday's game against the Indianapolis Colts in the second quarter when he hurt the ankle while being blocked. He did not return and the Packers eventually lost to the...
After Sunday’s loss to the Colts, Packers running back Cedric Benson said that he doesn’t believe his foot injury is very serious.
“I was able to walk on it,” said Benson, via the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. “Guys who have had [the lisfranc injury] usually can’t.”
I’m sure Benson will undergo further tests today to determine how severe his injury is
If Cedric Benson's foot sprain heals quickly enough, he could be back in action for the final four games.
Even though Green Bay Packers nose tackle B.J. Raji was able to walk out of the locker room under his own power today, he will undergo an MRI on today.
Raji suffered an ankle injury during yesterday’s loss to the Colts and will undergo further testing today.
So far this season it doesn’t matter if it’s the replacement officials or the regular officials, but the Green Bay Packers have been forced to deal with a lot of tough calls this season.“It’s definitely on us as players,” one Packer told Lori Nickel of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. “But I think the refs are out to get us this year.”Even though the Packers have had...
