When talk around the league about the elite tight ends the names Jimmy Graham, Rob Gronkowski, Aaron Hernandez, Vernon Davis, and Antonio Gates and soon to be Hall of Famer Tony Gonzalez always come up. However there is one tight end that never quite makes the list. Heath Miller who has had a successful yet modest NFL career always seems to get the short end of the stick in the list of current great NFL tight ends. Well, Big Ben thinks differently. "He's absolutely the best all-around tight end in the league," Roethlisberger said. "People are going to argue. But all-around tight end, there's no doubt about it." Miller has always been a steady and reliable option for Big Ben. Miller is a very solid blocker, and always seems to be open on 3rd down for Ben. Miller is on pace for career highs in touchdowns, receiving yards and could be on pace for a pro bowl season. Miller ranks 3rd in the AFC in receiving yards for tight ends and tied for 1st in touchdowns with 5. Miller hasn’t exactly even had mind blowing statistic but has been a quiet leader on and off the field. In his 8th season Miller has been to the pro bowl once in 2009 and is a 2 time super bowl champion. While Miller is probably a long shot for the Hall of fame as players like his former teammate Hines Ward would probably get the nod before him, Miller is sure to be in the Steelers hall of fame. Miller doesn’t get the proper due he deserves unless it’s from Mike Mayock who drools over him whenever he is on Thursday night football. [follow]
