The Rap Sheet:
Given the release of Matt Katula today, Pats coach Bill Belichick said a long snapper would be here by Thursday. Well, we’ve learned long-timer former Jet James Dearth is on his way to Foxboro.
Dearth played for Gang Green from 2001-09. The 35-year-old also plays tight end, but his primary spot here will be snapping the football for Zoltan Mesko and Stephen Gostkowski.
Dearth now joins fellow ex-Jets Danny Woodhead, Shaun Ellis and James Ihedigbo.
