Drew Brees broke Johnny Unitas' record of throwing a touchdown pass for 47 consecutive games during Sunday Night Football when the New Orleans Saints played the San Diego Chargers.

Brees completed his record breaking feat on a 40-yard pass to Devery Henderson, making it his 48th consecutive game throwing a touchdown.

Johnny Unitas' son, Joe, was in attendance at Louisianna Superdome in order to watch the all important pass. Joe Unitas had written Drew Brees a letter congratulating the Saints' quarterback in advance on breaking his father's record.

It's always awesome to watch a game where something bigger than a win is at stake. Especially for a team that hasn't won a game all season.

Before joining the Saints in 2006, Drew Brees was drafted by the San Diego Chargers in 2001. Funny that he broke Unitas' record while playing against San Diego. Brees has been selected to the Pro Bowl six times beginning in 2004 while with the Chargers and the rest as quarterback for the Saints. Drew Brees also led the New Orleans Saints to the franchise's first Super Bowl victory 2009. During that Super Bowl he tied yet another record for the most completions in a Super Bowl.

In my opinion, Drew Brees has yet to truly define himself. I think football fans all over the world will witness more memorable moments from this dynamic quarterback.

Brees is also making an impact off the field too. Drew Brees and his wife, Brittany, have created the Brees Dream Foundation, which is dedicated to helping the children of New Orleans and other communities.

Just like the home run race between Sammy Sosa and Mark McQwire in 1998, Tom Brady is close behind Brees, having thrown a touchdown pass in 36 consecutive games. This could get interesting, folks.
