While the New England Patriots were playing in the AFC championship game, two masked men robbed the house of defensive back Derrick Martin.
The men stole several items of value according to Aurora police spokesman Frank Fania.
Several children and at-least one adult were at the house at the time of the robbery.
“We don’t know if he was specifically targeted or not,” Fania said. “There was nothing said during the robbery that would indicate that.”
The Patriots lost the game to Baltimore. Had they won Martin would have had a chance to win his third consecutive Super Bowl ring as he played on the Giants last season and the Packers in 2010.
Martin has played in the NFL for seven seasons.

Two masked men robbed the suburban Denver home of New England Patriots defensive back Derrick Martin while he was playing in the AFC championship game.
Aurora police spokesman Frank Fania told The Denver Post that the robbers forced their way into Martin's home Sunday night when there was at least one adult and several children there. He says they took numerous items.
The NFL fined Tom Brady for sliding with his cleats high on Ed Reed. Brady apologized to Reed for the slide, which may have led to the fine.

For the second straight offseason, wide receiver Wes Welker’s future with the New England Patriots is uncertain.
Quarterback Tom Brady once again made it clear that he wants Welker to come back next season, while talking with Dennis & Callahan Show on Boston sports radio WEEI.
“Everybody knows how I feel about Wes, our whole team feels that way about Wes,” Brady said,...
Probably a good time to say you should think before you post things on your Facebook or Twitter accounts. Wives of athletes on losing the Patriots sure get frustrated and feisty after playoff losses. Welker’s wife is Anna Burns, a former Miss Hooters, will likely not be watching the Super Bowl or paying attention to any of the hype about Ray Lewis leading up to the game.The...
It is an experience common to all men to find that, on any special occasion, such as the production of a magical effect for the first time in public, everything that can go wrong will go wrong. Whether we must attribute this to the malignity of matter or to the total depravity of inanimate things, whether the exciting cause is hurry, worry, or what not, the fact remains.
Athletes seem to love porn stars. Remember when Patriots Rob Gronkowski had fun flicking up with one? Knowing the two seems to attract, this story isn’t shocking to me at all. Former porn star Jazmine Cashmere said someone on the Clippers offered her $10,000 to spend the weekend with him. He made the request via direct message (DM) on Twitter and when she declined, he unfollowed...
Patriots wide receiver Wes Welker spoke briefly on his contract status following his team's loss in the AFC Championship game on Sunday, saying he was "not worried" about his pending free agency at the moment.
After playing this season under the franchise tag after he and the team failed to reach a long-term deal last summer, Welker is set to become a free agent...
While Patriots safety Derrick Martin was on the sideline watching his team get stomped by the Baltimore Ravens this past Sunday, two masked men invaded his Colorado home and made away with ”numerous items of value.”
The 27-year old Martin wasn’t active for Sunday’s game but was still present on the sidelines in Foxboro as several family members and friends, including children...
With everyone saying Bill Belichick and Tom Brady were sore losers, I was glad to see this headline. Belichick caused a stir last night when he didn't interview with CBS, a customary thing to do after a game, win or lose. As a result of this, Bill was labeled as unprofessional and a sore loser.
I think John Harbaugh has the biggest say in whether or not Bill is classy or not...

Did Tom Brady try to intentionally kick safety Ed Reed during Sunday’s AFC Championship game? (Credit: AP Photo)
With twenty seconds left in the first half of the AFC Championship, New England quarterback Tom Brady scrambled out of the pocket to pick up a few yards. At the end of the play, Brady kicked his leg up a little too high and looked to be intentionally trying to kick safety...
Yesterday during the AFC Championship game between the Ravens and Patriots, Ravens safety Bernard Pollard delivered the knockout blow to New England’s Super Bowl chances when he knocked Stevan Ridley out the game with a vicious shot.
Pollard who could be referenced to as the Patriot killer for taking out so many Pats over the years, understands it’s a game, and told CSNNE...
