Not much is to be left up to the imagination when it comes to Boyd's fit in Callahan's offense. The two spent the last five seasons together in Cincinnati where Boyd did most of his damage out of the slot.
With DeAndre Hopkins and Calvin Ridley on the outside, Callahan is likely to deploy Boyd in the slot role to generate mismatches on the inside.
From A to Z Sports: New Titans head coach Brian Callahan loves to utilize his "big slot" third wide receiver as a mismatch problem on the inside. Since 2019, Callahan's offenses have targeted their big slot wide receiver Tyler Boyd over 500 times, leading to an average of 862 receiving yards per year from that specific position.
Boyd logged 672 snaps in the slot with the Bengals in 2023. He accumulated 51 catches for 508 receiving yards and one touchdown with 78 percent of his targets coming from that position last season.
Boyd, 29, brings added experience to the Titans wide receiver room with some in-depth knowledge in Callahan's system. Not only will Boyd be an asset to quarterback Will Levis on the field in his first season as the full-time starter, but he will serve as a valuable one off of it as well.
Titan up

The way the Titans had been moving over the course of the last week led many to believe that Treylon Burks' days as a Titan might be numbered. The 2022 first-round draft pick has been underwhelming in his first two seasons as a pro including a litany of injury issues that caused him to miss 12 games in that span.
The Boyd signing all but guarantees Burks won't have a significant role in the offense in 2024, which opens the door for the team to trade him. The return for Burks in a possible trade would likely be a Day 3 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. After all, a change of scenery might be beneficial for both parties.
Burks carries a $3.9 million cap hit in the 2024 season and a $4.5 million hit in 2025. If the Titans were to move Burks this would allow them more financial flexibility moving forward.
