Found October 03, 2013 on The Sports Post:
I have always been an Atlanta Falcons fan. I have supported them my entire life and I intend to do so until the day I die. But no Falcons game has infuriated me like the game against the New England Patriots on Sunday night. While it was a hard fought game with star power and top notch coaching, the Falcons lost, causing me to go to bed upset and stay off Twitter for the night. Displayed under the bright lights of Sunday Night Football, no game this season highlighted the flawed powerhouse in every single way like that game did. Thankfully for the Falcons and their fans, it was only the fourth game of the season. The problems with the Falcons, presented below, are visible, but easy to fix. It will take some work, but the talent is too great on this team for them not to be able to right the ship once again. The Offensive Line What can be said about the young and inexperienced offensive line? Defenses are breaking through the line like they are twigs and have sacked Matt Ryan a to...

Matt Ryan ‘Matty Ice’ Player Profile

Twenty-eight year old Matt Ryan is the starting quarterback for the Atlanta Falcons. Drafted from Boston College in 2008, he is in the midst of his sixth NFL season as a starting quarterback.  After growing up athletically talented and a clutch performer in all of the sports that he played, he earned his nickname because of his cool demeanor under pressure.  His high-school teammate’s...

Dirty Bird is down but not out

If you want to get through rush hour traffic in Atlanta you have a few options: you can carpool with your buddies at the office, public transportation is always a great way to save on commuting and you also get to reduce your carbon footprint at the same time, or you can go through the Atlanta Falcons secondary. To be fair, Asante Samuel has been banged up. Both Brent Grimes and...

Falcons Injury Report, AKA The Walking Dead

Injuries are part of the game but man does the game hate the Falcons this year. I'm not going to list all the injuries the Falcons have had this season because, quite frankly, I just don't have that much time but let's take a look at this weeks injury report.   First of all, starting left tackle Sam Baker and starting middle linebacker Akeem Dent will not...

Roddy White Suffers Setback with Sprained Ankle

Falcons receiver Roddy White (ankle) re-injured his ankle in the Sunday night game against New England, according to an Atlanta Journal-Constitution report.Fantasy Spin:White played almost every down against the Pats, but fantasy owners shouldn't expect him to be healthy until after their Week 6 bye ... at the earliest.

The Four-Letter Network picks Falcons unanimously over the Jets

The 1-3 Atlanta Falcons host the 2-2 New York Jets on Monday Night. The Jets have beaten teams that have combined to go 2-7 so far this season so they aren't exactly world beaters. The Falcons have lost three games against teams that have combined to go 11-1 in the early season. The Falcons are a 10 point favorite in this game, which seems a little rich too me considering our...

Falcons WR Roddy White suffered setback vs. New England

Falcons wide receiver Roddy White. suffered a set back in his recovery from his high ankle sprain. He played his most action of the season against New England. He played 74 of 76 (97 percent) of the offensive snaps. “Yeah and I learned a very valuable lesson from that” White said. “I ain’t where I need to be yet.” Asked if he was 100 percent White said “I don’t know...

Hey Yo Mister White

You’ll notice a reoccurring theme on here.  I really like the show Breaking Bad.  That’s the first part of the theme.  The second part of the theme is I don’t have cable so I’m always behind on everything.  My wife and I are currently acquainting ourselves on the series as a new season finally came out on Netflix this Summer.  We’re going back through seasons one...

Falcons Defense Not Creating Turnovers

With one-fourth of the NFL season in the books, the Atlanta Falcons sit at 1-3 with more questions than answers. Through four games, the Falcons are averaging just 2.5 less points per game than their opponents and they haven't lost by more than seven points this season. The Falcons aren't that far off, but all that matters in the NFL is the win and loss columns. ...

Falcons frustrated by missed chances in red zone

The bottom line doesn't look good for the Falcons' red-zone production. After failing to score touchdowns in five of six possessions inside New England's 20 last week in a 30-23 loss, the Falcons rank 29th in the league in red-zone production. Offensive coordinator Dirk Koetter said Wednesday the reason for optimism is the offense is providing so many opportunities...

Atlanta Falcons: 2013 Week 5 NFL Power Rankings (#18)

Last week: 14 (-4) Record: 1-3 The Falcons may have made it a touchdown game with the Patriots, but it wasn’t nearly as close as that would have suggested. After the Patriots scored their last touchdown, giving them a 30-13 lead, the Falcons’ win probability was about 1%, with the ball on their own 20, down 17, with 6:18 left to go. It took an onside kick recover to even make...

Atlanta Falcons vs. New York Jets Preview

A win versus the New York Jets can build a little bit of momentum heading into the bye week.  (John Bazemore) For the first time under the current regime, the Atlanta Falcons find themselves two games under .500. Last week’s 30-23 loss to the New England Patriots put the Falcons on a two-game losing streak, which hasn’t happened since 2009. With the New York Jets coming to...

Jets-Falcons Preview

While the Atlanta Falcons caught their fair share of breaks last season, they haven't been nearly as fortunate this time around. A visit from the New York Jets and their struggling rookie quarterback could be just what they need to regroup. Hoping to avoid losing three straight for the first time during the Matt Ryan era, the Falcons try to add to Geno Smith's woes Monday...

Rex on Gonzalez: 'I wish he would've retired'

BY NICK ST. DENISThe New York Jets have been pretty good against tight ends this season, but they haven't faced Tony Gonzalez yet. Jets coach Rex Ryan would just assume they keep it that way."Quite honestly, I wish he would’ve retired," Ryan quipped Wednesday, via "But man he still does it, tremendous receiver."Gang Green will be faced with...

Five teams that I think should call Tampa Bay for Josh Freeman

Well now that it is official, and Josh Freeman is on the trade block, I feel there are several teams that could benefit from a trade.  Some of the teams need help at quarterback right now, while some could have a very solid veteran on their roster. Here are five teams that I think could […]
