People are always talking about the Browns, it seems. Usually I’m one of the ones talking the most, but I don’t really feel like it right now. So to prove it to you, I’ll talk Browns just enough to tell you why it’s kind of boring to me right now.
Brandon Weeden’s name has been in the news because nobody can predict the future. Really, that’s what it comes down to, right? Brandon Weeden is under contract for the upcoming season. He didn’t play well enough for the Browns to not consider alternatives at the quarterback position. The Browns don’t know how all the pieces will land between the draft and free agency, so they’re not in a position to make guarantees. Frankly, unless they have one of the top seven to ten quarterbacks in the league on their roster, they shouldn’t be making anyone any guarantees anyway. So, it is natural to not have much to talk about regarding Brandon Weeden. He might earn the job. He might not. Depends on how he plays and who he ends up competing against. So...

According to Matt Miller of Bleacher Report, the Cleveland Browns love former West Virginia quarterback Geno Smith in this year’s draft. Attack is the keyword for the Browns defense
Some day its the chicken, others the egg.
So it goes with the Cleveland Browns' new defensive system, a chicken or egg question if ever there was one.
Did the Browns adopt the new system because they hired coaches who believe in it, or did they choose the coaches because they believe in the Browns preferred system?
CEO Joe Banner had a plain answer last week when he met the...

Browns WR/KR Josh Cribbs Says His Agent Is Meeting With NFL Teams
It's no secret that tampering runs rampant in the NFL at the NFL Scouting Combine and beyond. Agents and NFL teams speak about prospective free agents, even though the rules don't allow it.
It can become a problem, though, when it becomes too blatant publicly like when Colts cornerback Vontae Davis had to backtrack on comments made Wednesday about his buddy Sean Smith...
Come (back) to Colinwood
There was a really good piece by Joe Crea in the Plain Dealer last week about an influx of new businesses and other development in Cleveland’s Collinwood neighborhood (“where Frankie Yankovic first learned to polka”) and its center, the Waterloo Road District, home of one of the best concert venues (and brunch spots) in the U.S.A., the Beachland Ballroom.
The article contains...
In depth 2013: Cleveland Browns
Few teams are going through more change this offseason than the Cleveland Browns. … Again.
This time the turnover includes not just a new coach or quarterback, but a new ownership group led by Jimmy Haslam. Haslam wasted no time putting a new stamp on the organization, bringing in Joe Banner to run the team. The duo then signed off on the additions of Michael Lombardi as vice president...
WFNY Podcast – 2013-02-26 Scott Raab talks Cleveland sports, Warren Zevon and more
I stuttered like a fool to open the podcast this week. Scott Raab is a pretty regular guy who sets you at ease, but I still managed to stutter right into the opening just the same like a nervous Nelly. Anyway, after letting him laugh at me, Scott and I spent a nice amount of time discussing the news of the day in longer form.
Of course, to keep up with Scott Raab you can follow him...
