The Indianapolis Colts have started their rebuilding process, preparing for life without QB Peyton Manning. The Colts however have a great player to build around at the quarterback position in Stanford rookie, Andrew Luck. Luck was one of the most highly touted rookies entering the draft since perhaps his predecessor Manning or Broncos QB John Elway. Luck enters this season with a great tutor in offensive coordinator Bruce Arians. Arians has a track record of developing young quarterbacks after working with Peyton Manning and Pittsburgh Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger. Arians “retired” from the Steelers this season, being replaced with Todd Haley but came out of his retirement in order to join the Colts organization this offseason. Last season, Carolina Panthers QB Cam Newton re-wrote the record books and raised the bar regarding expectations for rookie quarterbacks. Luck might not be able to duplicate Newton’s on field performance this season, but he should showcase why he was the f...

Luck starts light as Colts camp opens

Andrew Luck didn't get much of a chance to show his strong right arm at Sunday morning's first training camp workout. Instead, the No. 1 draft pick is impressing new teammates with his command. Receiver Austin Collie says Luck knows the Colts' new offense better than the veterans, and another receiver, Donnie Avery, likes Luck's take-charge approach in the huddle...

Coach gives Luck jersey to rival fan

Even former Baltimore Ravens are having a tough time letting go of their old rivalry with Pittsburgh. After Colts safety Tom Zbikowski spotted a Steelers jersey in the crowd at Monday afternoon's practice, new coach Chuck Pagano took care of the situation. The former Ravens defensive coordinator handed the Pittsburgh fan a new Andrew Luck jersey and jokingly told him to put...

Andrew Luck draws Lucas Oil Stadium

Back in May, a collectibles company put 35 rookie NFL players together, gave them a 2.5 x 3.5 inch card, and asked them to draw something. Andrew Luck had Indianapolis on his mind when he gave the company his impression of Lucas Oil Stadium. Andrew Luck may not be the next da Vinci or Picasso, but the sketch is, if nothing else, somewhat comical. It would seem that even Andrew Luck...

Colts coach gives Luck jersey to Steelers fan

He might be a pretty harsh critic of impromptu music, but say this about Chuck Pagano: he’s establishing a brand with the Colts. During Monday’s training camp practice, the first-year coach was notified by safety Tom Zbikowski that one attending fan (if you could call him that) was wearing a Steelers jersey. The fan in question was Zach Simmons, a 24-year-old who was only there...

Peyton Manning's Road to Recovery Pressured by Huge Expectations From New Fanbase

Peyton Manning has dealt with pressure before. He has lived with the burden of carrying the Indianapolis Colts as the team's franchise player for 13 seasons. He knows what it's like to win a Super Bowl, and knows the sting of a Super Bowl loss. Even with all of his experience, Manning is entering uncharted waters in his career. The quarterback is coming back from significant...

Manning searching for timing with his new targets

Peyton Manning's arm strength looks just fine. It's his timing with his new targets that's the biggest question mark facing the four-time MVP as he embarks on his comeback with the Denver Broncos. Manning doesn't appear bothered by the nerve injury in his neck that led to a series of operations, sapped his power and sidelined the league's most durable active...

Some are rookies like Luck and RG3 and others are veterans like Manning and...

Denver's defense has to hold up its end of deal

Peyton Manning can't do this all by himself. Denver's defense will have to do its part if the Broncos are going to have the special kind of season so many expect of them. Football chief John Elway swapped unconventional quarterback Tim Tebow for the only four-time MVP in NFL history, seeking to add to the two Super Bowl trophies he won during his Hall of Fame playing career...
