The Indianapolis Colts will get the services of TE Dallas Clark back for the final week of the regular season but with changes coming for the Colts in 2012, you have to wonder if Dallas Clark is playing his last game with the organization this week. Clark is dealing with a neck injury, but the tight end has dealt with injury issues for the last two seasons, playing only 16 games in the last two years. Dallas Clark will be 33 next season, and while he is under contract for 2012, his salary is listed at $4.53 million. It’s possible that the Colts would want Clark to renegotiate his contract in order to remain a member of the Colts, if he refuses, he could simply be released. Most everything will depend on what direction the team takes as far as the coaching staff and the quarterback situation. Clark is in his ninth season and has recorded 422 receptions for 4,834 yards with 46 touchdowns. His best season came in 2009, catching 100 passes for 1,106 yards and 10 scores. This seaso...

Grecco: Texans best game of the season

Matt Grecco over at Stampede Blue took a look at the Texans game and came away with the idea that this was the best game the Colts played all year: By a ridiculously wide margin, this was the best game the Colts played all season, and I'm really glad it was paid off in a win for the players. There were plenty of games earlier this season that the Colts played horrible, yet still...

Chappell: Trade up for Luck?

Mike Chappell dutifully takes questions from readers each week.  One reader wants to know if a trade for Luck is in the cards: ANSWER: It’s certainly possible. The problem would be the cost. We’ve been discussing the value of the No. 1 overall pick in the event the Colts had it and decided to auction it to the highest bidder. What would it bring? Three No. 1s, a couple of No...

Five plays from the 2nd Texans game

Anyone arguing against the Colts signing Robert Mathis need to read Ben Savage's breakdown of the game tape from the Texans game.  Throughout his career Robert Mathis has been a clutch player whose versatility is widely overlooked.  Once again he came up big against the Texans by forcing a fumble and then recovering: Mathis starts off with an inside move, which he uses to...

Colts win by losing, but only if they play to win

I'm going to tank Sunday's column. I know: How will you be able to tell? Look, the Indianapolis Colts are going to play hard Sunday in Jacksonville and they're going to play to win. You don't ask athletes to do the most counterintuitive thing imaginable, which is to try to lose. Unless we're talking about international soccer or Formula One, athletes -- especially...
