The Indianapolis Colts have traded center AQ Shipley to the Baltimore Ravens for a conditional 2014 draft pick.AQ Shipley was the backup center for the Colts last year, and when called into action, did a pretty good job. Samson Satele struggled with injuries and inconsistent play last year, and Shipley was asked to play more than a typical backup usually does. The Colts drafted center Khalid Holmes in the 4th round, and in a way, it made Shipley an expendable player. Khalid Holmes is now expected to be the backup. The Ravens were in need of a center after Matt Birk retired. Shipley will compete for the starting job there. The conditional pick that the Colts receive will probably depend if he starts, or if he plays at all. Shipley was a 7th round pick by the Steelers in 2009, and spent time with the Eagles.
