Down and Distance:
Most things in this life are replaceable. One item that I feel is not however, is a Super Bowl jersey. Former Green Bay Packers LB Desmond Bishop can relate.
Recently, an intruder broke into Bishop’s California home and stole his prized Super Bowl XLV jersey that he wore for the big show. There’s often times that law enforcement can do very little, especially when the investigator isn’t around to help pursue the stolen property.
My house in cali got broken into the other day & my SB XLV jersey was stolen. The investigating cop went on vacay tho. smh. checking ebay/CL

Bishop is now fighting for a roster spot in Minnesota after being signed to a one-year deal. If he can’t recover this irreplaceable item, it should at least give him extra incentive to acquire another one in a Vikings uniform.

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. --Some amount of nervousness would have been expected for Desmond Bishop in last week's preseason game.
Despite six seasons in the NFL, Bishop was playing in his first game in over a year. He suffered the torn hamstring that caused him to miss all of last season in the first preseason game of 2012.
A lot had changed for Bishop during the past year. He had...
The Vikings officially have wrapped up camp and have 2 preseason games in the books. A few positions are pretty much locked up but we still have a handful of tight battles. With the 3rd and most important preseason game coming up we should get a few hints on who really has a legit shot of making the team.
Below is this weeks prediction of the 53 man roster, a few movers and shakers...
Imagine for a moment that each division in the National Football League put together an All-Star team with players within their respective division. Now imagine there was a tournament between the eight divisions in the league. How does the all-NFC North team stack up against the competition in 2013?
QB: Aaron Rodgers, Green Bay Packers
RB: Adrian Peterson...
There's not a lot to add to this other than you know this stinks for Vikings linebacker Desmond Bishop. Not only because the former Packers Super Bowl jersey was stolen but because the officer investigating the crime is currently on vacation.
So if you see a game-worn Packers No. 55 jersey on eBay give Desmond a call.
Former Packers linebacker Desmond Bishop won a Super Bowl in Green Bay a few years back, but he no longer has the jersey he wore on the battlefield. Over the weekend, Bishop tweeted that his house in California had been broken into and his Super Bowel 45 jersey was stolen. And there’s more to it […]
EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. -- Sharrif Floyd's lingering knee trouble sent him to the operating room and out of the rest of the preseason for the Minnesota Vikings.
Floyd, taken in the first round in April's draft, had a "minor" procedure on his knee Monday, according to Minnesota coach Leslie Frazier. Frazier said he isn't likely to play again in the preseason but...
Dearest Vikings Fans,Unless Daunte Culpepper (or Randall Cunningham) suits up, the emotional Cris Carter cries his way back into the League (too soon?), and Coach Leslie Frazier calls up the legendary Randy Moss and asks him to play this season, keep your hopes a recluse. If I hit the bull's eye with this prediction, the Purple and Gold will hate me even more. It'...
EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. -- Adrian Peterson has the NFL MVP and Offensive Player of the Year awards under his belt, could he be angling for the Defensive Player of the Year award too?
Peterson proved to be nearly unstoppable on the offensive side of the ball on his way to winning the NFL MVP last season and he's set his goals even higher this season as he tries to break the single...
Minnesota's offense hasn't done much well in the first two preseason games.
Then again, the Vikings have kept the league MVP on the sideline.
The absence of running back Adrian Peterson caught the eye of wide receiver Greg Jennings when he walked off the field after a rough series in a recent exhibition game. At first, Jennings said he was concerned. Then he realized who...
The Minnesota Vikings have released cornerback Jacob Lacey a week after his arthroscopic knee surgery.
After three seasons with Indianapolis and one with Detroit, Lacey signed with the Vikings. He had a legitimate chance to make the squad with veteran Antoine Winfield no longer on the team. But he was injured early in training camp and didn't play in any exhibition games.
EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. -- Greg Jennings reached veteran status in his seven years with the Green Bay Packers and didn't look forward to each year's four preseason games.
Like many of the league's established players, Jennings preferred to get his work in during practice and leave game action to those fighting for roster spots or their NFL careers. Jennings knew the Green...
It's about that time again. Cool breezes blowing away the summer heat, kids going back to school, and football, glorious football.
Unfortunately, the rise of social media has paved a very dangerous path to mar this brilliant time of the year: The unofficial, and sometimes official, team songs that pop up almost daily paying tribute to a team or school and range from cringeworthy...
EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn.--The Minnesota Vikings added a bit of defensive line depth on Tuesday by signing defensive end Spencer Nealy, according to the team's official Twitter account.Nealy, an undrafted rookie out of Texas A&M, spent time this summer with the Detroit Lions but was released on Aug. 1. Nealy was listed by Detroit at 6-foot-3 and 285 pounds. He's played both...
Is that a humble-brag? Yes it is. But we'll get to that in a moment.
Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson hosted a Reddit AMA yesterday, where he answered a bunch of questions from anonymous weirdoes. It wasn't quite as eventful as the one that Fred Smoot hosted (Okra Patch, anyone?), but it was both entertaining and insightful, particularly if you're a...
Joe Webb is fighting for his NFL survival, this time as a wide receiver. He is clearly on the roster bubble, but he is focused on his work ethic, not his work future.
