Good teams find a way to win. At least that’s what the Iowa Barnstormers mindset has to be after a fourth quarter rally to win their first game of the year 40-36 against the Portland Thunder. After a scoreless third quarter, Darius Reynolds blasted through the Thunder defense, for his third touchdown of the night to take the game in Portland.
“We worked too hard to lose, we figured out a way to come back and win and I think that’s huge, if we would have blown them out, I don’t think we would have gained as much,” said head coach Mike Hohensee.
Carson Coffman wasted no time finding his go-to guy, as the emerging dynamic duo Marco Thomas connected for a 33-yard touchdown pass to take the first score of the game. The lights on the scoreboard would stay the same the remainder of the first quarter as neither team cracked the end zone in the first.
