AP Photo A few weeks ago, Cleveland fans stock-piled their supply of brown bags as the Browns shipped off their star running back Trent Richardson to Indy.  It is believed that the franchise was throwing in the towel and preparing for a high draft pick in 2014.  They are in need of a franchise quarterback to build around, and with a lot of potential in passers for next season’s draft, it appeared Cleveland was making 2013 it’s sacrificial lamb while looking to the future.  Brandon Weedon is questionable at quarterback to say the least.  With a hand injury to Weeden comes backup New England bred quarterback Brian Hoyer. They trade their best player and lose their starting quarterback to injury.  Everything is going according to plan in hopes of a high draft pick next season right?  Hoyer has other ideas.  Since the Richardson trade and the Weeden injury, the Browns have not lost.  If this kind of play out of Cleveland continues, they’ll be lucky to get a top 10 draft pick next season. So far in Hoyer’s two starts in Cleveland, he’s nearly at a 60% completion rating with 590 passing yards, 5 touchdowns, and three interceptions.  His go-to guy has been tight end Jordon Cameron who’s coming into his own as of late.  He’s been targeted from Hoyer 23 times for 4 touchdowns. Hoyer is making things a little complicated for the Browns heading into next season’s draft.  The question at hand is whether or not they go for a franchise quarterback early in the draft should Hoyer continue playing exceptionally well.  Play as of late indicates that Weeden should be cast aside and the Browns should direct their attention to building around Hoyer, who comes at a bargain.  He’s on a two-year deal worth $1.965 million, with only $250,000 guaranteed.  We’ll continue to watch Brian Hoyer closely as this story unfolds before us.
