Read the article..I'm thinking with the Eagles signing another TE/FB that a trade is on the horizon. Whether or not its for Williams or Ocho, who knows. But why would Eagles sign a 4th TE? They say this guy can play some FB too, but you already have two people at that spot. We all know the FB isn't an important position in the Eagles offense. So no need to add depth there. I just don't get 4 TE's unless you're looking to move one... Anyway, from this site to Joe Banners ears...

  • These signings don't usually mean anything. They sign all these guys so by the end of training camp and into the summer they will cut the won't who don't cut it. You sign these guys and bring them to camp to see if they can cut it. They won't keep all of them. They will keep one most likely maybe 2 since one plays special teams really well. Should have nothing do with any other transactions regarding the draft or trades.

  • Yeah, this is just to bring in competition for the roster. The Eagles want guys to fight for a spot, and as they have proven before, (michael lewis and dhani jones) they want them to know they will bench them and cut them if they don't keep performing throughout the season. This has nothing to do with trades, just building the best team there is.
  • oh yeah
  • Yeah plus I doubt that Klecko will beat Davis out for the FB spot. But it's good for competition, we need contributors this year not just people taking valuable roster spots a la Jerome McDougle.
  • You can't say crap about mcdougle. He hasn't had a chance to play and Reid is high on this guy. He really thinks he can be a good pass rusher. He just needs to stay healthy and prove the coaches right. We may suck at developing WRs, but the coaching staff really does a great job with defense for the most part. Especially when it comes to the line. I look for Mcdougle to make a real push for a spot. It may be too late, but he will make it a hard decision for them to cut him.
  • hopefully we could trade LJ and lito & a 2nd rd for roy!!! sound too much....... but we need a true #1 to start NOW!!! not develop later!!!!!........... ya with me..........
  • i think we have 2 2nd rders, can someone post how many picks we have?
  • Due to compensatory picks from the free agent signings last year of Stallworth, Garcia, & Rod Hood and picks from previous trades such as Hank Fraley and Kelly Holcomb, our picks should look like this: 1, 2, 3, 4, 4, 5, 5, 5, 6, 6, 7.
  • thanx
  • we have like 9 or 11 picks....and mcdougle isnt goin to play this year JT and Clemons are rotating in and trent cole may rotate with them too but he'll play the most time....i cant really see mcdougle having a huge impact on this team
  • cole is a right end. Parker and abiamiri are rotating at left end right now. We don't know where clemons is going to rotate in at, although most believe he will be rotating in behind cole. Mcdougle and Howard are left to fight it out for a fifth spot, and there is no reason to believe mcdougle can't beat out Howard. Whether or not it happens is another story.
  • eagles maybe looking to ship L.J. in a package for Roy
  • Hopefully we can get some results out of LJ particulary in the red zone. This will be his make or break season. If he is unable to produce nobody in the league will want him.
Of course I am not against trying to move LJ right now if it were feasable in an attempt to package him with a first day pick, to try and get a roy williams.
If he can come up with some TD catches, he could be the answer to our problems (not likely). If not we'll wish we shipped him while his stock was at least mediocre.
I don't see why Detroit would not be willing to work with the Eagles in getting Roy, with Calvin Johnson coming into his own there may not be room for the two of them, and I see Roy as more of a possession receiver. Either that or bring Keyshawn out of retirement I guess.
  • McDougle's a stiff. He'll be cut.
