Trent Cole had an outstanding game against the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday night.  In retrospect, Trent Cole has had many sterling performances during the course of his career.  Not many NFL fans know who he is outside the Philadelphia area.  So, the question begs to answer:  Is Cole the most underrated defensive player in the NFL?  I am not sure, but I can present a decent case. Trent Cole is in his seventh season in the NFL.  He is only 28 years old, just entering his prime.  Cole was selected in the fifth round of the 2005 NFL Draft by the Philadelphia Eagles with the draft pick acquired from Washington Redskins for wide receiver, James Thrash.   In his Cole’s rookie season, he started just three games garnering five sacks.  He has been a starter ever since.
