There were about 15 minutes on Saturday when I thought the season was over. Romo was in the locker room getting his right hand x-rayed and it didn't look good. Watching Stephen McGee operate ineffectively made it painfully obvious that the Cowboys can't beat anyone without Romo.So when the news came that Romo is ok I was all for sitting him out and giving up the Philadelphia game. There was next to nothing to be gained. Felix Jones was pulled around the same time as the news came that the Giants had defeated the Jets eliminating any chance that the NFC East crown could be sewn up early. We could sit here and try to analyze the outcome of the Eagle game but I don't know what can be gained. Not having a legitimate offense puts extra pressure on the defense. But the defense only gave up 20 points. On the other side of the coin, the Eagles had a 20 point lead and no real reason to try to extend that lead. It was essentially a preseason game in week 16...weird.In a sea...

Real test awaits Romo's healing hand

IRVING, Texas There seems to be no doubt Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo will play with a bruised throwing hand in Sunday's winner-take-all game against the Giants. The only question is how effective he will be. Cowboys coach Jason Garrett said the swelling in Romo's right hand had gone down Monday, but the proof will come when Romo returns to practice Wednesday. "...

Tony Romo Hurts Throwing Hand, Cowboys Fall To Eagles

In a very boring game, the Philadelphia Eagles beat the Dallas Cowboys 20-7. With no playoff ramifications on the line, the Cowboys played it safe and looked to next week. Quarterback Tony Romo suffered a hand contusion on the first series of the game, and did not return. Michael Vick threw for two touchdowns and led Philadelphia to a bittersweet victory. As nice as it feels...

(UPDATED) So far, Christmas Eve has been a downer for Cowboys

ARLINGTON – With the New York Giants winning and Tony Romo injured, it’s shaping up to be a Blue Christmas for the Dallas Cowboys. Romo hurt his right hand on the Cowboys’ opening possession. He’s being evaluated in the locker room. (UPDATE: X-rays on Romo’s right hand were negative, according to the Cowboys. But Stephen McGee remains at quarterback.) The injury...

Will Romo be ready against Giants?

With everything on the line next week against the Giants, will Tony Romo be ready to go?

Tony Romo: Ripping, Roaring and Ready to Go

It all comes down to this for the Dallas Cowboys specifically Tony Romo; outplay the New York Giants specifically Eli Manning and he will once again be going to the playoffs. It has been a year of ups and downs for the much maligned quarterback, but he has a shot to perform his own rendition of a “Miracle at the Meadowlands” this season, but there won’t be a DeSean involved...

Jerry Jones: Romo will be ready for Giants

According to Jerry Jones, Tony Romo should be ready to go Sunday night when the Cowboys face the Giants with the NFC East title on the line.

Swelling subsiding on Romo's bruised throwing hand

The swelling is going down on Tony Romo's bruised throwing hand, and the Dallas Cowboys quarterback could be ready to practice Wednesday.

Romo likely ready for Giants showdown

All the negative tests on quarterback Tony Romo's bruised throwing hand are positives for the Dallas Cowboys. Coach...

Dallas Cowboys Simply Must Outscore New York Giants for NFC East Title

The Dallas Cowboys and New York Giants will engage in a shootout on New Year’s Day. There’s no doubt the game will see 60-plus total points scored, unless the Cowboys’ have a Christmas Eve hangover from a bizarre loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. Assuming Dallas will play its typical style of play at New York, this game will require a truckload of points scored and no missed...

Jerry Jones Told Jason Garrett on the Sidelines Not to Play Romo

Jerry Jones says he doesn’t tell Garrett who can play and who can’t, but he did want to make sure Garrett understood that quarterback Tony Romo didn’t need to take any chances by playing in an essentially meaningless game against the Eagles. “That’s Jason’s decision, but he doesn’t need to be making that one by himself,” Jones said. “So I wanted to, very briefly...

Jones Should Stay Off the Sideline

We should all be thankful to Jerry Jones for inserting himself into the middle of Saturday's loss to the Eagles. If it wasn't for Jones' trip to the sideline for an animated discussion with Jason Garrett after Tony Romo's injury, the game wouldn't have produced a single compelling talking point. Thanks to the Giants' win in New Jersey, it was an anticlimactic...
