TEAMS: Dallas Cowboys
I think most of us have come to the realization that the Dallas Cowboys are most likely not destined for the Super Bowl this season. That doesn't make this season a failure. But it would be hard to imagine not viewing the season as a failure after the Cowboys held a two game lead in the division just two weeks ago and seemed to be a lock for the NFC East title. But a funny thing happened along the way. The team performed with a two game lead just like they have in the 4th quarter of too many games this season. They found a way to screw it up. And it happened so quickly it left everyone wondering what happened. But, just like in the games they lost, there is still time to salvage a playoff spot.If that is going to happen then the game against Tampa Bay has got to be a win. The Cowboys need to not only win but they need to make a statement. I know it is hard to make a statement in a game that should be an easy win. But a great performance could start the ball rolling in th...

Five Boys to Watch During the Dallas Cowboys vs. Tampa Bay Bucs Game
Felix Jones: After a devastating injury to DeMarco Murray, Jones is back as the Cowboys starting tail back and last week he had a decent performance filling in for Murray. However can that continue and can he be a number one back which he failed to do early in the season? I sure hope so because the Cowboys playoff hopes might depend on it. The big difference between Murray and...
Rob Ryan on Cowboys' D woes: 'I will get it fixed'
Rob Ryan is taking the blame for the Dallas Cowboys' defensive meltdowns at the end of the last two games.
He's also vowing to fix it.
The defensive coordinator says communication breakdowns have been partly to blame, so he's working on a new system using signals from the sideline. He's also having the defense go over video together instead of breaking into smaller...

Tom Landry: The 20-Year Winner
A reader named Bruce Lombard earlier this year most generously sent me a stack of copies of the old Dallas Cowboys Official Weekly from the 1985 season and 1986 offseason. Each Wednesday, we will take a look at some interesting tidbits in these issues.
The focus this week is in the issue published on December 14, 1985.

Cowboys’ Jay Ratliff restrained by teammates in near dust-up with reporter
It was a quick video blip during the NFL Network's Thursday afternoon pre-game coverage — a shot from Dallas station KDFW of Dallas Cowboys defensive tackle Jay Ratliff being restrained by two of Ratliff's teammates in the team's locker room during media access time. The target of Ratliff's ire was ESPN Dallas reporter Calvin Watkins, and though the subject if Ratliff...
Before Dallas Called, Morris Thought His Career Was Over
A few years ago, the Cowboys had a running back problem. The problem was, they had too many, each with a unique skill set, and never seemed all that certain how to distribute carries between them. These were the bygone days of Smash, Tash’ and Dash, referring to Marion Barber, Tashard Choice and Felix Jones.
Now, the team has much the opposite problem. Felix is the only of...
Garrett’s thoughts and prayers centered on Phillips
Jason Garrett said he would have no problem with Cowboys assistant coach Wes Phillips leaving the team to be at his father’s side.
Texans defensive coordinator and former Cowboys head coach Wade Phillips said Wednesday he will have surgery this week to address a kidney condition.
Wade Phillips, 64, declined to specify the condition, but he said it is not life-threatening, not cancer...

Memorable Moments in Sports: Tony Romo’s Botched Snap
It’s only fitting that we post this video after the total debauchery that was the Cowboys loss this weekend. As a Giants fan I can only smile. As a Cowboys fan you people must still be dry heaving right now.
Look, Romo is a very good quarterback and he did some good things in that last drive but come on. I know there’s no textbook definition for this but shouldn...
Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs Dallas Cowboys: It doesn't require any build up for me
I want the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to return to dominance as much as anyone, but I honestly can say I can rest in the grave if they don't simply because of two great things.
Buc won the Super Bowl in 2002
Bucs finally beat the Cowboys in Dallas in 2001
..and I honestly cant say which one is higher on that list, THAT, is how much I hate the Dallas Cowboys. So you'll ask...
