With only one more day until the Jaguars hold their first scrimmage of training camp, there is plenty to be pleased with in terms of the team and the progress made by head coach Gus Bradley and his staff. But as always, there is still more improvements to be made. The hot Florida sun has been almost as relentless as the first-year head coach and his approach to the game, the team and building a winning formula. There are still questions to be answered and hopefully Saturday night will help give everyone some answers.* Can Blaine Gabbert or Chad Henne separate themselves from the pack? Gabbert has been working slowly following his ankle injury on Monday. He has looked better in his delivery and his follow through, however. The injury has not prevented him from taking part in practice, but it has also allowed Henne to take more reps and give both Mike Kafka and Adam Scott more reps in practice. But Gabbert did progress more on Thursday especially in seven-on-seven drills. Both of Gabbert...

MJD zings players drafted before him

Jaguars running back Maurice Jones-Drew had some fun at the expense of players picked ahead of him in the 2006 NFL Draft, making a joke about where they are now.

Justin Blackmon working his way up to speed after surgery

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. A wide-brimmed hat and black shorts don't represent the type of uniform Justin Blackmon would be wearing in an ideal situation during Jacksonville Jaguars training camp. And he would rather be on the receiving end of passes from quarterbacks Blaine Gabbert or Chad Henne than from strength and conditioning coach Tom Myslinski. But that's what the Jaguars...

Cecil Shorts’ Son Tries on Dad’s Helmet at Jaguars Training Camp, Challenges Limits of Adorableness (Photo)

Cecil Shorts III is an underdog success story, having come out of the tiny, 2,200-student University of Mount Union in Ohio as an undersized wide receiver to carve a place for himself with the Jacksonville Jaguars in the last two years. The former track star was sidelined for the end of last season with a concussion, but he is positioned to be one of the top targets this year for...

MJD: ‘Half the guys drafted in front of me are working at Target right now’

There are different ways that athletes motivate themselves. Just the simple desire to win and be the very best they can possibly be is enough. Some looks elsewhere for inspiration. The most popular one in recent years is to feel slighted because teams NFL team’s drafted someone or several someones in front of you. Such is the case with Maurice Jones-Drew, who is still quick to...

Jaguars claim Ingram off waivers

The Jacksonville Jaguars now have three long-snappers in training camp. The Jaguars were awarded rookie Luke Ingram off waivers from Pittsburgh on Friday, giving them three long-snappers on the roster. Jacksonville says it has no plans to part ways with veteran Jeremy Cain or rookie Carson Tinker in the near future, so all three will compete for one roster spot. The 6-foot-5 Ingram...

Jaguars' Jeremy Mincey misses practice with head injury

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) Jacksonville Jaguars defensive end Jeremy Mincey has been sidelined with a possible concussion. Coach Gus Bradley says Mincey has a "head contusion," adding that the veteran is seeing a neurologist Friday for more testing. Bradley says Mincey banged his head during drills Thursday. Mincey has started the last 40 games for Jacksonville. He has 262...

Maurice Jones-Drew: Half The Guys Drafted Ahead Of Me Work At Target Now

Maurice Jones-Drew was one of the final players selected in the second round of the 2006 NFL Draft, and he seems to still feel some type of way about it. While talking to the Associated Press, Jones-Drew made the comment that “half guys drafted before him are all working at Target now.” Best line of @Jones_Drew32's tenure: "Half the guys drafted in front of me are working...

Maurice Jones-Drew Gives Kids Free Backpacks Filled With School Supplies at Jaguars Camp (Photo)

To paraphrase Paul Pierce, Jaguars running back Maurice Jones-Drew is the classic example of a great player on a bad team. Jones-Drew, who has rushed for more than 1,300 yards in three of the last four seasons, would probably prefer a playoff appearance or two along with his gaudy statistics, but it’s not his fault the Jags have been stuck with Chad Henne and Blaine Gabbert calling...

MJD – Half the guys drafted before work at ….

Maurice Jones-Drew has been in the league for a long time and he’s always excited us on and off the field. Well the Jacksonville Jaguars running back continued that yesterday with the comments he made after practice. MJD has been in the league 2006 but had to wait till late in the second round to get drafted and still holds a grudge about it. He talked about it yesterday. Best...

Former Steelers LS Luke Ingram Claimed Off Waivers By Jaguars

The Pittsburgh Steelers waived rookie long snapper Luke Ingram on Thursday as they needed a roster spot for cornerback Buddy Jackson, who they claimed off waivers from the Kansas City Chiefs. Ingram, the only long snapper to be invited to the NFL combine this year, didn’t stay unemployed long as he was claimed off waivers [...] Former Steelers LS Luke Ingram Claimed Off Waivers...

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) -- Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Blaine Gabbert is back at practice, two days after spraining his right ankle. Gabbert had his right ankle heavily taped Wednesday for the team's first practice in full pads. Gabbert injured his ankle late in practice Monday when guard Uche Nwaneri stepped on him during 11-on-11 drills. Tests were negative, and coach...

Jags' Gabbert injured, leaves game

Jacksonville quarterback Blaine Gabbert has left the Jaguars' preseason game against the New York Jets because of a sprained right thumb. Gabbert, competing with Chad Henne for the starting job, appeared to bang his throwing hand on one of the Jets' defensive players' helmets Saturday night. He was replaced by Henne late in the second quarter, but the Jaguars announced...
