The Jacksonville Jaguars have hired Gus Bradley to become the fifth head coach in franchise history. Bradley, 46, was the defensive coordinator of the Seattle Seahawks for the past four seasons, playing a vital role in the team’s two recent playoff appearances.
“It was just a matter of time before Gus Bradley became a head coach in the NFL,” Jaguars GM Dave Caldwell said, “and the Jacksonville Jaguars are extremely fortunate that Gus will be on our sidelines for many years to come. Gus more than met every criteria we insisted on from our new head coach, and his intangibles and leadership abilities are exceptional. Gus is who the Jaguars need now and in the future.”
Although Bradley will be leaving a Super Bowl contender for a Jaguars team plagued by multiple deficiencies on both sides of the ball, he nevertheless expressed his enthusiasm for starting his first NFL head coaching gig.
