Jacksonville Jaguars: LB Devin Lloyd to Miss Next 2 Games in London
Nathan Ray Seebeck-USA TODAY Sports

Jacksonville Jaguars linebacker Devin Lloyd underwent surgery on his right thumb that’ll put him out from traveling with the team to London for their two-game stretch.

The Jaguars are set to take on the Atlanta Falcons at Wembley Stadium on Sunday, Oct. 1, and then the Buffalo Bills at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Oct. 8.

Jaguars Injury Updates

Lloyd was injured in last Sunday’s 37-17 home loss to the Houston Texans. Prior to the injury, he played in every game and had 19 tackles and a fumble recovery. It’s likely that second-year Chad Muma will replace Lloyd for the time being.

Jaguars’ head coach Doug Pederson also mentioned that it’ll be a long shot for Zay Jones (right knee) to play in Sunday’s game against the Falcons. He will, however, travel with the team in hopes that he can play against the Bills on Oct. 8.

Jones was injured in the 17-9 Week 2 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. He was able to reenter the game but did not play in Week 3 against the Texans. Second-year Tim Jones and veteran Jamal Agnew both played in his position against the Texans, and it’s likely that we’ll see that translate over to London. Jones has five catches for 55 yards and a touchdown this season. In his first season with Jacksonville in 2022, he set a career-high in receiving yards (823) and catches (82).

Anton Harrison rolled his ankle, but X-rays were negative, according to Pederson. He’s day-to-day right now but should be able to play this weekend. He’ll be practicing with the team on Wednesday and is projected to travel with the team to London.

It was also said on Wednesday that defensive tackle DaVon Hamilton is making improvement in his return from a back injury sustained in Detroit for a joint practice with the Lions back in August. Hamilton will stay back and not make the trip with the team this week, respectively.

Safety Antonio Johnson (hamstring) did not participate in practice week or play in Week 3 due to a hamstring injury. He has yet to make his NFL debut.

Offensive lineman Cooper Hodges is expected to travel with the team to London as well. Hodges has missed time due to a patella injury. Coach Pederson said he is progressing nicely in terms of progression towards return.

Non-Injury Updates

Left tackle Cam Robinson is set to be activated this weekend and will travel with the team after serving a four-game suspension from the NFL for violating the league’s performance-enhancing drug policy. Robinson missed the last three games of the regular season and both playoff games after sustaining a knee injury in the win over the Dallas Cowboys on Dec. 18.
