The Chicago Bears played the Jacksonville Jaguars on a short week for the Bears. Traveling to Jacksonville there was hope for a tight contest. The Bears were coming off a short week. The heat and humidity of Florida has derailed lesser men. And, of course, there is that always unpredictable Jay Cutler. All hope for the Jaguars was shattered after the first half. Unfortunately for them, a game lasts two halves. With that in mind, here are the heroes and zeroes for the entire game.Chicago Bears HeroIt is a collective effort. The Bears defense gets the hero award. Against the Jaguars, the defense recorded a fumble, three sacks, and two defensive touchdowns. Lance Briggs and Charles Tillman returned interceptions for touchdowns. Monday night against the Dallas Cowboys, Briggs and Tillman also returned interceptions for touchdowns. Jay Cutler: A Rex Grossman with an ego

Chicago Bears Jay Cutler has been hard to pinpoint what is wrong with him or define what type of quarterback he is. Cutler is inconsistent and quite frankly plays poorly in the worst situations. Cutler had one 4,000 yard season and everyone just believes the Bears are one year away from getting to that milestone. One more year and Cutler will finally be ‘Elite’ as everyone say...

Film Room Breakdown: The Tillman Pick-6

With a little extra time with the bye week, I was going to study several different spots in the Chicago game with the coach's film and discuss the finer points of the Xs and Os scenarios before we move on to the Baltimore Ravens. I am guessing that the team is taking quite the opposite approach since they obviously need to focus on only what they can control - looking forward...

Bears throttle Jags for four quarters

The Chicago Bears are turning their defense into a scoring offense. Charles Tillman and Lance Briggs returned interceptions for touchdowns - their second in six days - and the Bears used stifling defense to overwhelm the Jacksonville Jaguars 41-3 Sunday. The Bears (4-1) scored 38 unanswered points, including 35 in the second half, to win their third consecutive game. The streak...

Tillman honored with NFC defensive player of the week award

With the Chicago Bears defense leading the NFL in takeaways, it should be no surprise that another Bears defender was honored for his recent play. Bears CB Charles Tillman was named NFC Defensive Player of the Week after recording a 36-yard interception return touchdown, to go along with three tackles, in Week 5 at Jacksonville. Tillman broke a Bears team record [...]

Bears first quarter grades: offense

While Jay Cutler and Chicago’s offense have been inconsistent through four games, the group has shown flashes of potential.

Bears' defense keeps racking up points

How's this for an oddity? Charles Tillman and Lance Briggs have more touchdown catches than Calvin Johnson and as many as Larry Fitzgerald and Reggie Wayne. Well, sort of. Tillman and Briggs actually have two interception returns for touchdowns, and the Chicago Bears' defense has been racking up points of late at a rate that would make any high-powered offense envious...

Blaine Gabbert, Jaguars crushed by Bears

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) -- The Chicago Bears are turning their defense into a scoring offense. Charles Tillman and Lance Briggs returned interceptions for touchdowns -- their second in six days -- and the Bears used stifling defense to overwhelm the Jacksonville Jaguars 41-3 Sunday. Bears Steamroll Hapless Jaguars 41-3

Jay Cutler had two touchdown passes and the Chicago defense returned a pair of interceptions into the end zone as the Bears crushed the Jacksonville Jaguars, 41-3. Cutler went 23-for-39 with 292 yards and an interception, while Brandon Marshall had 12 catches for 144 yards and a score for the Bears (4-1), who have won their past three games. Matt Forte finished the game with 107...

Bears heat up in second half to blow out Jaguars

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Chicago Bears survived the Florida heat and a slow start on offense for a rout of the struggling Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday. Cornerback Charles Tillman and linebacker Lance Briggs each returned interceptions for touchdowns for the second game in a row to spark the Bears to a 41-3 victory. It was the first time in NFL history that the same teammates...

Chicago Bears Maul Jacksonville Jaguars, 41-3

Although it was a tale of two halves in Jacksonville Sunday afternoon the Chicago Bears ultimately mauled the Jaguars, 41-3. Both team's first half offensive performances left a lot to be desired as they went into the locker room knotted at 3-3. However, prompted by normally soft spoken coach Lovie Smith's half time rant the Bears came out rejuvenated in the second half...

Chicago Bears Report Card: Week 5 at Jacksonville

Another week, another impressive win for the Chicago Bears. It seems as if the Bears have put the embarrassing week two loss to NFC North division rival Green Bay in the rearview mirror. It may have taken the Bears 30 minutes to get things going on Sunday but when they did, they did it in a big way. The Bears lived up to the old adage of its not how you start but how you finish,...

NFL quarterbacks get into it on Facebook

There was a lot of hype leading up to the Manning-Brady match up that took place this Sunday, and somehow, in the mess of it all, I missed this facebook conversation that took place between the two Pro Bowlers (and rest of the League’s high profile quarterbacks).I’m not sure if it’s the influx of new QBs into the league, an increase in branding efforts from these guys’ agents...
