Week three match-up gave us a much maligned second year quarterback versus the anointed one.  Two franchises' who are looking to turn their fortunes around.  And veteran players who are the anchor for their teams.  And this was all in one game. Jacksonville Jaguars versus Indianapolis Colts taught we there are still lessons to be learned.  Here are five.1. Nothing is predictable, Is It?And that just doesn't apply to this game.  The San Francisco 49ers lose to the Minnesota Vikings.  The Detroit Lions come back only to lose in overtime on a questionable play.  The New Orleans Saints are 0-3, with an overtime lose to the Kansas City Chiefs in New Orleans. And then there is the match-up between the Jacksonville Jaguars and Indianapolis Colts.  The Jaguars won the game 22-17.  And what is most amazing is in his bold predictions, Seth Starkey predicted two of three happenings!  Luck had one more interception than Blaine Gabbert.  Maurice Jones-Drew had his first 100 yard game of ...

Following a Legend: Andrew Luck Week 3 vs. Jacksonville Jaguars

Andrew Luck came very close to his first NFL winning streak on Sunday, but the Colts were outdone in the final minute by a stunning 80-yard touchdown. It was only the 20th time since 1981 that a team took over in the final minute of the game and scored a game-winning touchdown. Last week we saw Luck make his first game-winning drive, and this time he was trying for his first comeback...

Colts offense still trying to catch up with Andrew Luck

According to ProFootballWeekly.com, even though Colts quarterback Andrew Luck looked really good running the two-minute offense last week, Indy can’t run it as much as they would like to because the rest of the offense can’t handle it the way Luck can. “After seeing how natural Andrew Luck looked and what great success he had running the no-huddle during the Colts’ final...

Indianapolis Colts’ Andrew Luck showing promise entering third game against Jacksonville Jaguars

Andrew Luck was billed as the most NFL-ready quarterback prospect since Peyton Manning — some even said John Elway. It seems fitting, then, that the 23-year-old rookie was drafted first overall by the Indianapolis Colts, the franchise that drafted both Manning and Elway (the latter forced a trade from the franchise when it was in Baltimore) with the top pick. While the expectations...

Week 3 Fantasy Football Recap: Jaguars vs. Colts

Jacksonville Jaguars 22, Indianapolis Colts 17Blaine Gabbert (166 total yards, 1 TD)  was being positively Blaine Gabbert-esque on Sunday, on his way to less than 80 yards passing before one 80 yard bomb more than doubled his output for the day.  Seriously, is there a worse QB in the game for the forward pass than Gabbert?  From now on, if you pass for less than the length of...

T.Y. Hilton came out strong last week for Andrew Luck and the Colts

In 2011, Hilton got off to a hot start, putting up a school record 283 all-purpose yards in FIU’s rout of North Texas. A week later, Hilton was instrumental in FIU’s 24-17 upset of Louisville, with 74 and 83 yard catches for touchdowns. He finished that game with 7 receptions for 201 yards, breaking his school and personal single game receiving records. Because of the huge year...

Jaguars get last-minute victory over Colts

INDIANAPOLIS -- Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Blaine Gabbert had less than a minute and 80 yards to go for the win. He didn't need near that much time. Gabbert hit wide receiver Cecil Shorts III over the middle of the Indianapolis Colts' defense and Shorts took it all the way for a touchdown to give the Jaguars a 22-17 win on Sunday in Lucas Oil Stadium. "We checked...

Jaguars stun Colts with 80-yard TD for 22-17 win

The Indianapolis Colts and their fans were ready to celebrate Sunday. Blaine Gabbert ruined those plans with one long play. Just moments after the Colts had taken a late lead on an Adam Vinatieri field goal, the Jacksonville quarterback hooked up with Cecil Shorts III on an 80-yard TD pass to beat the Colts 22-17 - the first fourth-quarter comeback of Gabbert's NFL career and...

Gabbert starts for Jags; Colts' Freeney inactive

Jacksonville quarterback Blaine Gabbert will start Sunday, while Colts defensive end Dwight Freeney and Jaguars running back Rashad Jennings are both inactive. Freeney (ankle) will be replaced by Jerry Hughes at outside linebacker. Jennings (ankle) had been listed as doubtful. Indy's Seth Olsen will replace the injured Joe Reitz (knee) at left guard. Reitz hasn't played...

Jags stave off Colts in thriller

Jacksonville's Blaine Gabbert connected with Cecil Shorts III on a 80-yard TD pass with 45 seconds left to beat the Colts 22-17 on Sunday. The bizarre finish overshadowed Maurice Jones-Drew's 177-yard rushing performance. Andrew Luck drove the Colts (1-2) 48 yards in five plays to set up Adam Vinatieri for a 37-yard field goal. That gave Indy a 17-16 lead and seemingly...

5 things to beat the Colts

Irony is part of the NFL. The Jaguars struggled through much of the Jack Del Rio era chasing the Colts. Now that Peyton Manning is gone, the Jaguars have yet to lose to the Colts under Blaine Gabbert. Oh the irony. Here's 5 quick things that the Jaguars can do to keep the streak going. 1) Defense (again)Once again, it's all about the defense. Hopefully they decide to show...

All-22 Analysis - Evaluating the Colts Defense, Week 3.

Peaks and valleys seems to be the theme this year with the Colts, with an impressive first half showing on Sunday completely rendered obsolete in an awful loss at home to the Jacksonville Jaguars. The loss came as a result of some incredibly poor football, whether on offense or defense. The only unit I can assuage of any guilt would be the special teams coverage and return units...
