JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) -- The Jacksonville Jaguars will be without half their starting secondary and could be down a third defensive back Sunday against Detroit. Safety Dwight Lowery (foot) and cornerback Rashean Mathis (groin) were ruled out Friday, and cornerback Derek Cox (back) was listed as questionable. All three players missed last week's game at Green Bay, and the Jaguars responded with their best defensive performance of the season in a 24-15 loss. The Jaguars also will be light in the offensive backfield. Running backs Maurice Jones-Drew (foot) and Montell Owens (shoulder) are out, along with fullback Greg Jones (hip). Jones hasn't missed a game since 2009. Quarterback Blaine Gabbert (shoulder), center Brad Meester (foot) and receiver Laurent Robinson (concussion) are probable for Jacksonville.

NFL Rumors: Mike Mularkey To Donate To Charity When Jacksonville Jaguars Act Like They Have Been There With Touchdowns

Mike Mularkey wants his Jacksonville Jaguars to act like they have been there before when it comes to scoring touchdowns this season. Unfortunately, for many of them, they have not. Still, that has not stopped Mularkey from implementing a rule that stipulates the head coach donating $250 to a charitable organization every time the Jaguars simply hand the ball to the referee after...

Tired Jacksonville Jaguars

It’s going to be a long week for the Jacksonville Jaguars. Two home games in four days, is going to wear a team out. Jaguars blogger going out on a limb

This has been a rough season for Jaguars fans, and my predictions for this team's success have been next to useless. That being the case, I've seen a lot to like from Blaine Gabbert over the past couple of weeks, and the Jaguars are catching the Detroit Lions at the right time. Calvin Johnson, by far the Lions' biggest threat on offense, could be out against the Jaguars...

Detroit Lions can’t look past Jacksonville

The Jacksonville Jaguars are 1-6, in the cellar of the AFC South, and haven’t won a game at home yet this year. Looking at this matchup, it’s obviously a game that the Detroit Lions should win. The game will be played in Jacksonville, and airs at 1:05p.m. on Fox. In the NFL this season, with parity at an all-time high, if the Lions take that attitude into this game they will...
