Head coach Gus Bradley said, via the team’s official website “We’re going with Chad this week.” We’re just talking about San Diego. We’ll see when Blaine comes back, but right now Chad is our quarterback.” Chad Henne went 27 of 42 for 303 yards, but threw two interceptions in a 35-19 lost to the Denver Broncos.
Henne right now has been a better quarterback than Gabbert and the numbers don’t lie.Additionally, Henne has thrown two touchdowns and four interceptions in the season. On the other hand, Gabbert has thrown one touchdown and seven interceptions. Furthermore, Henne passing rating stands at 70.9 and Gabbert is at 36.0.
Gabbert has missed time because of a strain hamstring suffered in week 5 against the St.Louis Rams.He missed a portion of the third quarter against the Rams and last weekends game against the Broncos.Jaguars record is 0-5 and are one of the worst team in the NFL. Bradley doesn’t mind giving Henne more time and will not hurry Gabbert to return this weekend against the Chargers.Henne will have to be at his best against the Chargers defense, which held Colts quarterback Andrew Luck to no touchdowns on Monday night football.
