This has been a rough season for Jaguars fans, and my predictions for this team's success have been next to useless. That being the case, I've seen a lot to like from Blaine Gabbert over the past couple of weeks, and the Jaguars are catching the Detroit Lions at the right time.
Calvin Johnson, by far the Lions' biggest threat on offense, could be out against the Jaguars, and even if he's not, his actions will likely be somewhat limited.
The Lions defense has a tough front four, but the backend is susceptible to big plays, something the Jaguars have begun to see over the past couple of weeks. This could be another big game for Blaine Gabbert and the Jaguars offense.
It's for all the above reasons that I'm actually going to make a game prediction this week (something I don't think I've done all season). Jaguars 24, Lions 17.
