Fox Sports Florida:
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) -- The Jacksonville Jaguars and defensive end Jeremy Mincey have agreed on a four-year contract, filling one of the team's most pressing needs.
Mincey agreed to terms early Wednesday, after spending several hours on the open market. The Chicago Bears tried to sign the free agent pass rusher, but he ultimately chose to stay in Jacksonville. His deal reportedly includes 9 million guaranteed and could max out at 27.2 million.
"Chicago!!! what a great organization," Mincey posted on his Twitter page. "But, Gene Smith fought for me in a Very Tough fight....PROUD TO BE A JAG!! DUUUVALLL!!!"
Mincey had a career-high eight sacks last season, and the Jaguars made it clear they wanted to re-sign the 28-year-old end they believe will develop into an elite pass rusher.

The Browns shouldn’t want to waste any time finding someone to play opposite Jabaal Sheard on the defensive line. According to reports out of Chicago and re-broadcast by the Plain Dealer, the Browns are looking at Jeremy Mincey most recently from the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Mincey had 8 sacks, 4 forced fumbles and an interception in 2011 for the Jaguars. It was his fourth year in...
Jacksonville, FL (Sports Network) - The Jacksonville Jaguars signed wide receiver Laurent Robinson on Wednesday.
Terms were not disclosed, but NFL.com reported it to be a five-year deal worth $32.5 million.
"Its official everyone. Taking my talents to Jacksonville," Robinson joked on his Twitter account Wednesday.

My take on the Robinson, Henne signings from This Given Sunday:
"The Jaguars are operating as if Blaine Gabbert is a franchise quarterback. If he pans out, the Jaguars may be able to produce an average offense, and that, coupled with a stellar defense, could produce a playoff caliber team. The Jaguars success will be determined entirely by Blaine Gabbert's capabilities...
The Jacksonville Jaguars were once expected to hold onto standout defensive end Jeremy Mincey by trying to hammer out a deal before free agency begins.
That hasn’t happened, though.
With 24 hours remaining before the official launch of the signing period, the likelihood of that happening seems extremely slim now.
The Jaguars have roughly $36.2 million in salary-cap room to spend.
Just hours before the 2012 NFL Free Agency frenzy kicked into full swing at 4:00pm EST on Tuesday, the Jacksonville Jaguars announced that they will be releasing wide receiver and special teams standout Kassim Osgood and re-signing punter Nick Harris.
Tania Ganguli of the Florida Times Union first reported the news of Harris’ re-signing. The 33-year-old punter was with the...
Wide receiver Laurent Robinson is slated to visit the Jacksonville Jaguars, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.
Robinson collected three 100-yard receiving performances in 2011, and even more impressively reached the end zone in eight of the last 10 games - and would provide a major boost to a Jacksonville club that has the very worst receiving corps in the NFL.
Since free agency began Tuesday, the Jacksonville Jaguars have been relatively quiet. They have not, however, been silent. They've recently re-signed key defensive players like Dwight Lowery and Jeremy Mincey. Their only big free agent signings have been that of former Cowboys wide receiver Laurent Robinson and former Dolphins quarterback Chad Henne.

According to John Oehser of Jaguars.com, Jacksonville Jaguars general manager Gene Smith has stated that they’re willing to trade the 7th overall pick, since it could be in high demand for former Texas A&M quarterback Ryan Tannehill.
“We would entertain that. That would be a consideration,” Smith said when asked about trading the 7th overall pick.

The Jaguars made their first offensive signing in free agency as they inked former Cowboys receiver Laurent Robinson. Find out how Robinson will fit in the Jags offense and if the Jaguars spent wisely.
