Jaguars linebacker Paul Posluszny, who was a standout in his four year career at Penn State University from 2003-2006, reacted on Monday to the scandal that has engulfed his alma mater.
“It’s obviously a very, very disturbing situation for everybody involved,” Posluszny said of the charges leveled against former Penn State defensive coordinator Jerry Sandusky for sexually abusing boys. ”And if it’s true, you feel so awful for the kids, their families, and it’s just one of those things you say, ‘I can’t believe it. I can’t believe it.”
Posluszny did not play for Sandusky, who stopped coaching in 1999, but he noted that Sandusky was frequently around during his four years with the Nittany Lions. However, Sandusky was instrumental in coaching the linebackers that helped make Penn State “Linebacker U”, a tradition that Posluszny helped carry on with the success of his college career.
