Don Banks of Sports Illustrated is reporting that the Jaguars are ready to cut loose GM Gene Smith, as well as first-year head coach Mike Mularkey, following the end of the season. “The Jaguars have been gearing up to part ways with general manager Gene Smith for weeks, and recent signs point to head coach Mike Mularkey also being out after just one defeat-filled year on the job,” writes Banks. “Mularkey was seen as a safe coaching choice last year, but owner Shahid Khan is thought to be looking to make a bolder, splashier move for a franchise in need of new energy and new direction.” Banks suggests that former Colts GM Bill Polian could be at the top of the Jaguars list for potential replacements for Smith. A Dismissal of Smith shouldn’t come as a surprise, as the Jaguars have struggled recent years. As for Mularkey, the team has shown little signs of improvement under him. Coming off a bad season year ago, the Jaguars almost appear to have been playing worst this season as they currently sit with a record of 2-13. Banks mentions that current Eagles head coach, Andy Reid could be an option for the Jaguars, as well as University of Alabama head coach Nick Saban, but they would certainly come at hefty price. He also adds that Broncos offensive coordinator Mike McCoy could be a potential fit. The post Jaguars Ready To Part Ways With HC Mike Mularkey & GM Gene Smith? appeared first on NFL Trade Rumors -.
