The Jacksonville Jaguars made two moves with their roster on Saturday, activating defensive end John Chick from the PUP list and promoting quarterback John Parker Wilson from the practice squad to the active roster. To make room for the moves, the Jaguars have released fifth-round pick Brandon Marshall and offensive lineman Herb Taylor. Chick is recovering from a patella injury that ended his 2011 season. Parker Wilson was likely promoted to the roster in case Blaine Gabbert can't make it through the game, which won't leave the Jaguars with just one active quarterback during the game. Herb Taylor was signed during the Jaguars rash of offensive line injuries making one start, but was quickly out of the lineup after the loss to the Houston Texans. Injuries are hurting an already weak Jaguars teams. A look at their remaining schedule and the AFC South.

The Jaguars have struggled for years and I still don't think they have their franchise QB.  Gabbert improved a lot this season, but that's not saying much.  Now MJD is injured.  This could get ugly in North Florida. Here's a look at their remaining schedule, predictions and their division. @ GB - Loss Detroit - Loss Indy - Win @ Houston - Loss ...

Are the Jaguars uncertain about Blaine Gabbert's injury?

With less than 24 hours until game time, the Jacksonville Jaguars seem to be unsure about quarterback Blaine Gabbert’s injured shoulder. The Jaguars upgraded John Parker Wilson to the active roster from the practice squad Saturday night, the Associated Press reports. That could be an indication that the team's confidence in Gabbert’s torn labrum in his non...

Gabbert proves doubters wrong

Blaine Gabbert played a full game with a torn labrum Sunday, and he didn’t just play, he shined. The Jacksonville Jaguars sophomore quarterback proved all doubters wrong, including myself, by having a career day when he and the Jaguars could have just rolled over and conceded to the Green Bay Packers on the road.     Gabbert’s 303 yards were a career...

Maurice Jones-Drew Injury, Fantasy Football Analysis

We’ve seen some big fantasy injuries this year, but the “foot” injury Maurice Jones-Drew suffered against the Raiders could rank as the highest this year. MJD ran for a mere 6 yards on 2 carries against the Raiders. It originally appeared that he tweaked something as trainers looked at him on the sidelines. But once the team brought the cart to take him to the locker room,...

Quick thoughts on the Jaguars' loss to the Packers

It's always rough to watch the Jaguars lose, but today's loss gave me reason to hope in an otherwise unbearable season. The Jaguars played well, but they were done in by their own mistakes. Last week, the Jaguars would have beat the Raiders comfortably had Blaine Gabbert remained in the game. This week, the Jaguars may have won against a quality opponent if not for a blocked...

Jaguars Re-Sign CB Kevin Rutland

The Jaguars re-signed defensive back Kevin Rutland on Friday to fill the roster vacancy created by linebacker Daryl Smith, who was placed on injured reserve. Smith is eligible to return for the final two games of the season. Jacksonville released Rutland on Oct. 15. Source: CBSSports Attached Thumbnails

Week 8 Injury Updates: Daniel Thomas, Maurice Jones-Drew, Rashad Jennings, Jeremy Kerley

Here we are — the halfway point of the NFL season and six weeks away from the start of the fantasy postseason for many. Injuries are making lineup...

Jaguars CB Derek Cox, WR Laurent Robinson Among Week 8's Inactives

Derek Cox, the Jaguars’ most consistent cover cornerback this year, will miss today’s game against the Packers because of a back injury. Receiver Laurent Robinson (concussion) is also inactive after going through some warm-up drills at Lambeau Field this morning. The healthy scratches are defensive tackles D’Anthony Smith and Jeris Pendleton. John Parker Wilson, elevated...

Blaine Gabbert Tops 300 Yards vs. Packers

Jaguars QB Blaine Gabbert had his strongest fantasy performance of the season Sunday against Green Bay, throwing for 303 yards and a touchdown (to tackle Guy Whimper) one week after he tore the labrum in his non-throwing shoulder.Fantasy Spin:Gabbert completed 27-of-49 and outgunned Aaron Rodgers by 117 yards but Jacksonville lost anyway. Still, if Gabbert can continue to perform...

Fantasy Football Week 8 Preview: Jaguars at Packers

Jacksonville: In Week 7, the Jaguars lost Maurice Jones-Drew to a sprained foot, Blaine Gabbert to a shoulder injury, and ultimately lost the game in overtime to the Oakland Raiders. MJD’s injury is the biggest concern, as there’s no real time table yet for his return.Gabbert should be back this week, but really does that matter? Maybe to Gabbert’s mom, but certainly not to...

Rashad Jennings Registers 115 Total Yards Week 8

Jacksonville tailback Rashad Jennings didn't exactly set the world on fire Sunday against Green Bay but he did finish with 115 yards from scrimmage.Fantasy Spin:Jennings salvaged a day in which he rushed for 59 yards on 17 carries and lost a fumble by catching six balls for 56 yards. Jennings isn't in the class of Maurice Jones-Drew but he's all Jacksonville has right...

Jacksonville Jaguars at Green Bay Packers: Week 8 NFL Pick

Jacksonville Jaguars (1-5) at Green Bay Packers (4-3) So apparently Chad Henne is worse than Blaine Gabbert? I didn’t even know that was possible. Before he got hurt, Gabbert looked serviceable against Oakland’s terrible secondary last week, completing 8 of 12 for 110 yards and a touchdown. However, then Henne came in and went 9 [...]

Week 8 Preview: Jaguars (1-5) at Packers (4-3)

The Jacksonville Jaguars (1-5) travel to historic Lambeau Field on Sunday to face the Green Bay Packers (4-3), in what will undoubtedly be Jacksonville's biggest test this season. With Maurice Jones-Drew out of the lineup this week, after sustaining a foot injury against the Raiders last week, RB Rashad Jennings will get the start. If the Jaguars hope to have any chance in this...

Jaguars Coach Mike Mularky Takes Blame For Blocked Punt By Packers

Jaguars coach Mike Mularkey took the blame for the costly blocked punt in the second quarter that gave the Packers a touchdown in their 24-15 victory over the Jaguars. He said the Jaguars’ players were too slow in setting up the play and gave Davon House time to abandon Kevin Elliott on the outside and rush in and block Bryan Anger’s punt. Dezmon Moses recovered in the end zone...

Secondary Steps Up Minus Woodson

Blaine Gabbert, the least productive quarterback in the NFL, threw for more yards in the first half than Aaron Rodgers did for the entire game. Nonetheless, an energized defense shut the door on the Jaguars in the second half.
