The Jacksonville Jaguars have released veteran wide receiver Lee Evans. Evans signed as a free agent with the Jaguars in April after he was released a month earlier by Baltimore. He played seven seasons with the Buffalo Bills before joining the Ravens in 2011. He has 381 receptions for 6,008 yards and 43 touchdowns in his eight-year career. Evans' two best seasons came in 2006 and 2008. He had career highs in 2006 when he caught 82 passes for 1,292 yards, and had 63 catches for 1,017 yards in 2008. He has 14 career 100-yard receiving games. Evans and Laurent Robinson signed as free agents this offseason. While Robinson has become the team's top receiver, Evans saw limited action. The team also waived-injured third-year wide receiver Taylor Price.

Jags DTs Knighton, Alualu have tough competition

Terrance Knighton and Tyson Alualu have been fixtures as starters at defensive tackle for the Jacksonville Jaguars for two years. Knighton has started all but three games the last three years. Alualu hasn't missed a start since the Jaguars made him their No. 1 pick in the 2010 draft. Things could be different this year. Both are being challenged for their jobs by a pair of...

Even if Gabbert flops, Barkley won't be in Jacksonville

There's an elephant in the room that I'd like to address. It was put there by the national media, and I'd like to push it back out the door. That elephant, of course, is the idea that if Gabbert doesn't pan out, the Jaguars will have the opportunity to draft Matt Barkley to replace him. That's simply not going to happen. The Jaguars are a solid team with...

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) -- For two years now, Terrance Knighton and Tyson Alualu have been fixtures at defensive tackle for the Jacksonville Jaguars. Knighton has started all but three games the last three years, missing a trio of games a year ago due to an ankle injury. Alualu has answered the call for 32 consecutive games the past two seasons since the Jaguars made him their No...

QB Breakdown: Blaine Gabbert

Blaine Gabbert…..another struggling, average quarterback. Blaine Gabbert had a pretty rough season last year.  The Jaguars ended the regular season with a 5-11 record and Gabbrert put up very poor stats.  Gabbert only had a completion percentage of 50.8, not to mention he also threw 11 interceptions and had 5 fumbles.  He also only threw for 2,214 yards and ended the...

Jaguars DT Terrance Knighton Blames Evelyn Lozada For Chad Johnson Getting Released

Twitter allows athletes who have opinions to express them freely without filter. No team rep telling them what they can and cant say, if something comes to their mind, they can type it in 140 characters. But with great power, comes great responsibility. Terrance Knighton, defensive tackle of the Jacksonville Jaguars, took to Twitter to give his thoughts on the Chad Johnson / Evelyn...

Gabbert must overcome the negativity

Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Blaine Gabbert wasn't on the field for one of the most valuable football lessons he has ever received: Don't let yourself become affected by outside criticism. Five games into his 2008 freshman year at the University of Missouri, the Tigers were on the cusp of a No. 1 poll ranking. Starting quarterback Chase Daniel was the toast of Columbia...

Thomas Off The Bubble?

Jaguars rally for 32-31 win over Giants

Jaguars 32, Giants 31. With AP Photos. Even if it's the preseason, the turnovers still bother New York Giants coach Tom Coughlin. The Giants had two fumbled punt returns in a 32-31 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars on Friday. Both came inside the 10-yard line and led to 10 points by the Jaguars. Jayron Hosley fumbled the first punt, dropping the kick at the 2-yard line with...

Giants start year off with bad, bad loss

Talk about starting off on the wrong foot! The Super Bowl champs folded down the stretch, allowing the hapless Jacksonville Jaguars to squeak out a 32-21 victory. There were bad decisions made. Mix those horrid decisions with turnovers and you’re going to struggle all year. Not exactly the best way to open 2012 if you [...]
