We have likely seen the last of Aaron Kampman in a Jacksonville Jaguars jersey. The Jaguars announced on Friday that they were placing the veteran defensive lineman on the injured reserve list for the second consecutive season with a knee injury. The Jaguars signed Kampman prior to the 2010 season to add a boost to their struggling pass rush, but he went down after only eight games with his second torn ACL in as many years. Kampman only played in three games for the Jaguars this season as he suffered numerous setbacks in his recovery from his knee injury. Kampman still has two seasons remaining on the free agent contract he signed with the Jaguars, but after only playing in 11 games in his two seasons in Jacksonville, it is unlikely that he will be back with the team next season. This could potentially be the end of Kampman’s ten year NFL career. Kampman’s spot on the roster was filled by tight end Colin Cloherty, who the Jaguars signed off of their own practice squad.
